The Olympics stands as arguably the pinnacle of global sports events, bringing together athletes from hundreds of nations every four years.
Competitors battle for medals and national pride, displaying their skills and talent against the rest of the world's elite in disciplines ranging from football and athletics to sailing, shooting, and breakdancing.
The city of Paris is the host of the 2024 Summer Olympics. While some events got underway earlier in the week, the opening ceremony is on July 26, while they close on August 11. The next couple of weeks mark the city's third Games and its first since 1924.
In the UK, the Olympics will be shown on the BBC and Discovery+, as was the case with the Tokyo Games in 2021. This means there will be two distinct broadcasting teams bringing you the best of the action from the French capital.
