There have been teams putting out serious offensive output this season in the NHL and how fitting is it that one of the final games of the regular season saw an offensive onslaught.
Earlier this year, the Maple and Red Wings went head-to-head in a 10-7 slugfest. Then the Penguins became the first team in the salary cap era to score 11 goals in a single game.
On Friday night, it was the Canadiens' turn to put on a show. Going against the Panthers, who are highest-scoring offense in the league, it was the Habs who put up double digits, beating Florida 10-2. It's the third time a team has hit double digits in a game this season and the the second time a team has scored 10.

In fairness to the Panthers, Florida was resting a number of their players ahead of the playoffs, but Montreal fans don't care. It's a great way to end the season for a team that was a disappointment this year.

What is the most goals scored by a team in an NHL game all-time?
There have been a multitude of double-digit goal efforts, but only one team has hit 16 in a game.
The Canadiens were the team that did that. On March 3, 1920, Montreal smacked the Quebec Bulldogs 16-3. Harry Cameron and Newsy Lalonde each had four goals in the record-setting performance.
Two teams have reached 15 goals twice in NHL history, and on five different occasions a team has found the back of the net 14 times in a game.
