There are very few fan bases as passionate as football fanatics. The Swifties are one of those groups.

Taylor Swift has an immense following, as the 33-year-old singer/songwriter continues to gain popularity despite being a staple in the music industry since she was a teenager. If there wasn't much crossover from Swift devotees and NFL enthusiasts before, there certainly is now.

The dating rumors between Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce erupted last weekend, as Swift was spotted at Arrowhead Stadium supporting the Kansas City star. The pair were seen leaving the stadium together, and while nothing has been made official from either party, people are putting two and two together, especially with reports that Swift will again be in attendance to watch Kelce in Week 4 when the Chiefs face the Jets in New York.

As a result of this new romance, Kelce has gained an immense amount of new fans, as Swifties are flocking to NFL merchandise sites to scoop up one of his jerseys in support of their favorite musical artist and her new love interest.

It remains to be seen if Kelce is Swift's one true love story, or if we'll soon be hearing a new hit single from the singer about their breakup. But for now, the Swift-NFL crossover is charging full steam ahead.

Kelce has always had one of the more popular jerseys. The 33-year-old is regarded as the best tight end in the league and Patrick Mahomes' favorite target on offense. With the success of the Chiefs has come the rising popularity of Kelce apparel.

However, nothing could have prepared anyone for the surge of sales thanks to the Swift appearance. According to Fanatics, Kelce's jersey saw "nearly a 400% spike in sales throughout the Fanatics network of sites, including NFLShop.com."

With the influx of interest, Kelce catapulted up the jersey sales rankings. From the start of the season to Saturday, Kelce sat with the 19th most popular jersey. However, since Sunday, he has jumped all the way into the top five, even surpassing Mahomes, who has long sat toward the top of the jersey sales leaderboard.

What jersey number is Travis Kelce?

Kelce wears No. 87 with the Chiefs, for those Swifties looking to cop a Kelce sweater in support of Swift's new arm candy.

That is the number Kelce has worn throughout his entire time in the league. What's even better is that he has a heart-warming reason as to why he picked No. 87.

Kelce has an older brother, Jason, who is a Pro Bowl center for the Eagles. The bond between the two is well documented, as the pair not only played sports together in high school, but they also played at the University of Cincinnati together before eventually making it to the NFL.

The elder Kelce was born in 1987, which is the root for the tight end's number choice.

"If there is a Kelce legacy, two brothers making it to the NFL, it all started in 1987," the younger Kelce said. "Because this big guy was born in 1987.

"He's paved the way. I can't thank him enough for doing that. I just hope he stays as happy as he is right now and that never changes for him. And that he only wins one Super Bowl and that I win the rest."
