The NFL season is coming to a close, but the finish could be as exciting as any. With four of the most evenly-matched semifinalists in league history, it truly feels like the Lombardi Trophy can be hoisted by any team still standing.

The NFL has adjusted its playoff schedule in the last few years, adding two extra playoff games when the field expanded in 2020 and even moving a wild-card game to Monday night starting in 2021.

Weeknight playoff football has changed the game for fans and the league. Could we see more of it going forward? It's very possible. It might be a while, though, until we see playoff football on Thursday night.

Here's what you need to know about "Thursday Night Football" the rest of the way and how to watch the AFC and NFC championship games.

Is there a 'Thursday Night Football' game tonight?

There is NOT a "Thursday Night Football" game for Jan. 26. All games from this point on will be played on a Sunday, which is in line with the tradition of the conference title games and the Super Bowl.

In fact, while there was a "Monday Night Football" playoff game to finish off wild-card weekend, there were not any "Thursday Night Football" playoff games this season. The logistics of one (or both) teams playing on such short rest in the playoffs probably wouldn't be received well.

"Thursday Night Football" on Amazon Prime Video will return in the fall, and we're all hoping for some more competitive matchups in 2023. The full schedule will be revealed in the spring.

When is Super Bowl 57 in 2023?

  • Date: Sunday, Feb. 12
  • Time: 6:30 p.m. ET
  • Location: State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Ariz.

Super Bowl 57 is now less than three weeks away, and the field of possible teams is starting to narrow.

Either the Bengals or Chiefs will advance out of the AFC and head south to Glendale with a championship in mind, and either the Eagles or 49ers will be facing off with the AFC powerhouse.

All four remaining teams won at least 12 games, so the anticipation leading into Super Bowl 57 will be palpable.

This will be the first Super Bowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. since the Patriots won Super Bowl 49 over the Seahawks.
