It appears Zach Wilson's offseason dating drama won't go away, as former Patriots and Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski is making sure people won't soon forget.

Gronkowski, who has been known for his playful personality, name-dropped Wilson during an appearance on "Fox NFL Kickoff" on Sunday.

The joke, which occurred during a segment of "Glass Half-Full or Half-Empty," got plenty of laughter from the "Fox NFL Kickoff" crew, which was only made funnier as Gronkowski nonchalantly drank from his cup.

Of course, Gronkowski is referring to an offseason rumor in which Wilson's ex-girlfriend Abbey Gile accused the Jets quarterback of sleeping with his mom's friend. The rumors, true or not, may have been a contributing factor in Wilson deleting his social media ahead of training camp.

Regardless, the second-year Jets quarterback seems to have taken the rumors in stride, as noted in a July Instagram post: “Took the boys to @gozzerranchclub in Idaho before camp!" Wilson wrote. "Poor cell service…what I miss?”

Either way, Gronkowski's dig at Wilson had its roots in a poor performance by the Jets QB in Week 8 vs. the Patriots. He was unable to get the job done in a 22-17 loss, completing 20 of 41 passes for 355 yards and two touchdowns to three interceptions.

Despite owning a 4-1 record, he completed only 78 of 142 passes (54.9 percent) for 1,048 and three touchdowns to five interceptions heading into the Week 9 game vs. the Bills. If Wilson wants to keep from being the butt of jokes — dating-related or otherwise — he'll need to improve his play.
