Is Noah Fant playing Monday night? Latest updates on Seahawks tight end's status on 'Monday Night Football' image

As Seattle attempted to overcome a 21-7 halftime deficit and remain undefeated this season, one of its offensive weapons was quiet through the team's early Week 4 action.

In the Seahawks' matchup against the Lions on Monday night, which they eventually lost 42-29, TE Noah Fant's name wasn't called very often early in the contest, as he was uninvolved in his squad's offensive game plan.

Fant also initially appeared to be dealing with an injury on the sidelines, further throwing his status against Detroit into question.

Here's what to know about Fant's Week 4 performance vs. the Lions and any injury updates on the tight end.

Did Noah Fant play vs. Lions in Week 4?

Fant did play vs. the Lions in Week 4. However, he did not record a reception from QB Geno Smith in the first half before seemingly sustaining a minor injury.

Smith completed 17 passes in the opening two quarters vs. Detroit, but those completions were split between DK Metcalf, Zach Charbonnet, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Tyler Lockett, Jake Bobo, Kenneth Walker III, and Pharoah Brown.

Through his first three games of the season, Fant has totaled nine receptions for 85 yards. He hasn't yet found the end zone in 2024.

However, after his quiet first half, Fant returned to the field in the third quarter and recorded a 16-yard catch to get on the board. He finished with two catches for 26 yards against Detroit, but the Seahawks lost for the first time in 2024.

Noah Fant injury updates

In the second quarter of the Seahawks vs. Lions matchup, Fant was seen getting medical attention on the sidelines. It appeared to be an arm or shoulder injury for Fant, but there wasn't further information provided on his injury status heading into halftime.

Removing any concern for the time being, Fant was back on the field in the second half and made a 16-yard catch on a Seahawks scoring drive. He remained on the field through the rest of the contest.

Fant's time getting medical attention on the sidelines appears to be minor after he returned to action in the second half, but his situation is worth monitoring as the Seahawks prepare for a Week 5 game against the Giants.
