The 2023 NFL offseason was a busy one for any fans interested in new uniforms and helmets, as numerous teams introduced new throwback threads as well as alternate helmets after the NFL expanded rules regarding helmet usage. This offseason's changes are arguably even more compelling.
Four teams are set to enter the 2024 season with a redesigned uniform set, making changes that have a much longer-lasting effect than just a new throwback jersey.
Changes are not quite at the level of the 2020 offseason, which saw six teams overhaul their uniforms and some even introduce entirely new logos, but more than an eighth of the league will look a bit different when the season begins in September.
Here's a look at the new uniforms around the league as the NFL Draft approaches.

Which NFL teams have new uniforms in 2024?
Jets new uniforms
The Jets made no secret that the throwback uniforms widely praised in 2023 would transition to full-time in 2024, and New York made the switch official on April 15.
In addition to making the white throwbacks their full-time road uniforms, the Jets introduced a green edition of the jersey for home games and a black alternate uniform in the mold of the classic green and white jerseys.

The uniforms were heavily inspired by the look the Jets flaunted from 1978-89, an era that included a defense known as the "New York Sack Exchange." They deviate significantly from the more modern-looking uniforms worn over the past five seasons, notably ditching the large "New York" wordmark across the front of the jerseys.

The Jets also unveiled a new primary logo, closely resembling the logo the franchise used for two decades from 1978-97. New York has used two variations of an oval, football-shaped logo since 1998, unveiling an updated version in 2019, but the organization is going back to a classic wordmark.
In addition to new uniforms, the New York Jets also changed their logo today, going back to a style almost exactly the same as what they used from 1978-97. Here's a side-by-side where you can see changes to the lettering and the jet itself. #NYJ

The primary logo is also featured on the Jets' helmet, which is otherwise still green and chrome. New York also introduced a new black alternate helmet with the logo in green lettering.

The Jets wore their throwback uniforms only twice in 2023, for prime-time games against the Bills and Chiefs. The look is now full-time, much to the delight of fans.
Browns new uniforms
The Browns didn't unveil any updated uniforms on Wednesday, but they did release an updated helmet and logo.
Cleveland made two changes to its primary helmet, which now features a white facemask and a glossy finish. The Browns' helmet had a brown facemask and matte finish from 2015-2023, and their primary logo reflected the brown facemask.

The Browns previously wore a white facemask from 1975 until relocation and then again until 2005, with several variations of their classic helmet logo featuring the white facemask as well. That look is returning for 2024 and beyond as the franchise honors a large part of its history.

Lions new uniforms
The Lions previously announced that they would be revealing a new set of uniforms on Thursday, April 18 — and they did not disappoint.

— Detroit Lions (@Lions) April 18, 2024
Team president Rod Wood said the Lions' goal is to "honor the past" but "put a modern twist on it." While he made it clear the change won't necessarily be dramatic, Wood did refer to the switch as a modernization.
The Lions last introduced new uniforms in 2017, removing black from both their logo and jerseys. It was the third logo change for Detroit in the 21st century, including a significant overhaul in 2009.
While the Lions' uniforms did not have a ton of drastic changes, there is more white in the letters than silver, and the jerseys have gone back to block lettering as well. With Detroit among the most popular teams in the NFL at the moment, fans will be seeing plenty of them in prime time in 2024.
The one big difference is the introduction of the black alternate jerseys. Detroit hasn't committed to a jersey with black as the primary color since 2005, last wearing the alternates in 2007. Now, the black uniforms are back for 2024.

Broncos new uniforms
The Broncos announced in early April that they would unveil a new set of uniforms on Monday, April 22. They came through with a hype video that could have doubled as a Ford Bronco commercial.

Denver has largely maintained the same look since 1997, though the franchise began to emphasize orange uniforms more than navy blue in the early 2010s. The colors didn't change, nor did the Broncos' logo.
The uniforms, however, received a complete overhaul. Denver introduced three uniforms — one navy, one orange and one white. The biggest changes are a mountain silhouette on each shoulder and the city's "5280" elevation tag to represent the "Mile High" mantra. They also added a white helmet with the current Broncos logo to their rotation, which is also a new development.
While the old uniform template used for the last 27 years has been part of some of the best moments in Broncos history, the time for a change was ideal after eight consecutive seasons without a playoff appearance. The Broncos also came under new ownership in 2022, and ownership is looked to make its long-term mark with an updated on-field look.
Texans new uniforms
The Texans didn't unveil their complete uniform set until April 23, but CEO Cal McNair went ahead and revealed the team's white uniforms in March after they were leaked by a third party.
While the initial leak received mixed reviews, the reveal produced a better angle of the uniforms that drew more positive remarks from fans. The jersey features navy blue numbers with a red outline, below a small, red "Houston" wordmark. Rather than shoulder stripes, the uniform features what resembles horns.

Houston is keeping its traditional logo and helmet, but the reveal included a brand new "H" alternate logo that incorporates Houston Oilers-era sky blue. That logo is on one of the Texans' alternate helmets, while the other alternate helmet features horns rather than a logo.
