For the first time since 1992, the Lions have won a playoff game.
Jared Goff and Co. snapped Detroit's three-decade drought on Sunday night, taking out Matthew Stafford and the Rams in the NFL wild-card round.
The NFL scriptwriters were cooking for the NFC wild-card round, as the Lions-Rams postseason matchup came three years removed from the infamous deal between the two teams where they swapped Goff and Stafford. While Stafford already has a Super Bowl to his name in L.A., Goff got the laugh in 2024, knocking out Los Angeles from postseason contention.
Not only did this year's Lions deliver a home playoff game to Motor City, but the Detroit faithful have been guaranteed at least one more contest at Ford Field. With the Cowboys losing to the Packers earlier in the day, it ensured a home matchup in the divisional round for Dan Campbell's coalition.

But who will be the opponent coming into Detroit next weekend? Here's a look at who the Lions could face in the divisional round.
Who will the Lions or Rams play in the divisional round?
Before the Lions-Rams game even started, the first divisional round matchup was already decided, with the No. 7 Packers taking out the No. 2 Cowboys, setting up a date with the No. 1 49ers next weekend.
For the Lions, it had to await the winner of the final wild card matchup in the NFC.
No. 3 Lions vs. No. 4 Buccaneers
With Detroit defeating Los Angeles, and Dallas losing to Green Bay, the Lions are the second-highest seed still alive in the NFC.
It sets up a game in Detroit against the the Buccaneers, who defeated the defending NFC champion Eagles on Monday. It didn't matter who won, the divisional round game was going to be at Ford Field for the Lions.
