Plenty of top talent will be available in Rounds 2 and 3. Although much of the hype and focus is on Round 1, a team's draft class isn't made by just one or more first-rounders. This year, five teams are making their initial selections Friday night: the Broncos, Browns, Dolphins, 49ers and Rams.
MORE: Who are the best players still available in 2023 NFL Draft after Round 1?
Knowing who is still available, including the first-round fallers and Day 3 risers, it's time for one last 2023 mock draft for the second and third rounds. Here's projecting what might happen with picks 32-102. There are good fits for each team:
NFL mock draft 2023: Round 2
32. Pittsburgh Steelers (from Bears)
- Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State (6-2, 198 pounds)
The Steelers have a need a corner opposite newcomer Patrick Peterson. They'll find it hard to resist meeting that need with the son of their legendary edge pass rusher from their favorite in-state program. Porter is part of a wave of big, playmaking corners.
33. Arizona Cardinals (from Texans)
-
Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia (6-2, 207 pounds)
The Cardinals can take this former Scottsdale high school star to help them replace Byron Murphy. His agility and physicality make for a good fit on the back end of Jonathan Gannon's defense.
34. Detroit Lions (from Cardinals)
- Clark Phillips III, CB, Utah (5-9, 184 pounds)
The Lions surprised many by passing on corner with their two first-round picks after trading Jeff Okudah, so they should make getting an active ball-hawking playmaker a priority here to help complement newcomers Cameron Sutton and Emmanuel Moseley.
35. Indianapolis Colts
- Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina (6-1, 180 pounds)
The Colts moved on from former Gamecocks standout Stephon Gilmore; they should make a corner a high priority after taking a quarterback. Smith is a great value here; he's another big, physical, aggressive cover corner in this class.
36. Los Angeles Rams
-
Will Levis, QB, Kentucky (6-3, 229 pounds)
The Rams can also think about more immediate needs, including cornerback after trading Jalen Ramsey, but Levis, with his cannon for an arm and appealing heady traits, seems like the ideal option for Sean McVay to groom behind Matthew Stafford, who could retire in 2024.
37. Seattle Seahawks (from Broncos)
- John Michael Schmitz, C, Minnesota (6-4, 320 pounds)
The Seahawks did well to land offensive tackles Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas in last year's draft, but they can fill their longstanding void in the middle by taking the best pure center prospect.
38. Las Vegas Raiders
-
Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas (6-4, 235 pounds)
The Raiders added one freakish pass-rusher in the first round; they can add a different kind of player here for their front-seven rebuild. Sanders is a special, versatile player who can dominate vs. the run and get to the QB from the second level.
39. Carolina Panthers
-
Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee (6-0, 176 pounds)
The Panthers got Adam Thielen and D.J. Chark to help offset trading away D.J. Moore ahead of drafting Bryce Young, but they need a field-stretching vertical deep threat with a ton of speed. Hyatt's SEC reunion with Young would be ideal.
40. New Orleans Saints
- Brian Branch, S, Alabama (6-0, 190 pounds)
The Saints could benefit from addressing safety behind Marcus Maye and Tyrann Mathieu. Branch is a well-rounded defender who stands out with his inside coverage skills.
41. Tennessee Titans
-
Trenton Simpson, LB, Clemson (6-3, 235 pounds)
The Titans need an active second-level thumper to fly around and make plays everywhere. Simpson will become another great value pick from the Tigers' defense.
42. Green Bay Packers (from Browns through Jets)
-
Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame (6-5, 249 pounds)
The Packers were rumored to be taking Mayer in the first round to address their big positional need. Now, they can circle back and get the draft's most complete tight end as a second-round steal.
43. New York Jets
-
Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina (5-9, 171 pounds)
The Jets need to please Aaron Rodgers with a new version of Randall Cobb. Downs is an open-field after-the-catch dynamo with plenty of big-play flair to replace Elijah Moore and play off Garrett Wilson.
44. Atlanta Falcons
-
Isaiah Foskey, EDGE, Notre Dame (6-5, 264 pounds)
The Falcons, after making the luxury pick of running back Bijan Robinson in the first round, need to get back to the serious business of rebuilding their defense with Foskey, a sound, productive pass-rusher.
45. Green Bay Packers
-
Antonio Johnson, S, Texas A&M (6-2, 188 pounds)
The Packers would benefit from acquiring a complete safety to start next to Darnell Savage. Johnson would be a huge upgrade with his combination of run support and coverage.
46. New England Patriots
-
Dawand Jones, OT, Ohio State (6-8, 374 pounds)
The Patriots addressed their cornerback need well with Chrstian Gonzalez in the first round; Jones would be an ideal target for their big offensive need. Left tackle Trent Brown is 30 and coming off a rough season. Right tackle Riley Reiff, 34, is a shaky free-agent addition.
47. Washington Commanders
-
Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia (6-7, 264 pounds)
The Commanders need to think about tight end to help Sam Howell given the shakiness of Logan Thomas. Washington would give them a strong run blocker who can blossom into a dangerous receiver.
48. Detroit Lions
-
Adetomiwa Adebawore, DT, Northwestern (6-2, 282 pounds)
The Lions, after going running back and linebacker in the first round, need to address their defensive front four to help out Aidan Hutchinson. Adebawore is a super-athletic, inside-outside pass-rushing cog.
49. Pittsburgh Steelers
-
O'Cyrus Torrence, G, Florida (6-5, 330 pounds)
The Steelers, after upgrading offensive tackle with Broderick Jones in the first round, can keep boosting their blockers for Kenny Pickett and Najee Harris with Torrence, who can start opposite newcomer Isaac Seumalo as an upgrade from the disappointing James Danels.
50. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
-
Cody Mauch, OT, North Dakota State (6-5, 302 pounds)
The Buccaneers will be in the market for a tackle opposite Tristan Wirfs after cutting Donovan Smith. Mauch's toughness and quickness are made for the right side. The Bucs could then shift Wirfs to the left side.
51. Miami Dolphins
-
Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon State (6-6, 253 pounds)
The Dolphins haven't made tight end much of a target in Mike McDaniel's offense. Musgrave can change that with his speed, quickness and route-running. He'd play well off Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as Mike Gesicki's replacement.
52. Seattle Seahawks
-
B.J. Ojulari, EDGE, LSU (6-3, 248 pounds)
The Seahawks have had a long look at Ojulari, and after landing cornerback Devon Witherspoon in the first round, it makes sense for them to address their other critical defensive need to get better at getting to the quarterback.
53. Chicago Bears (from Ravens)
-
Derick Hall, EDGE, Auburn (6-3, 254 pounds)
The Bears need to hack away at improving their pass rush along the defensive front after addressing pass protection early. Adding Hall's straight-up suddenness and quickness here makes a lot of sense.
54. Los Angeles Chargers
-
Tuli Tuipulotu, DT, USC (6-3, 266 pounds)
Tuipulotu's combination of speed, power and agility is an intriguing inside pass-rush possibility for Brandon Staley.
55. Detroit Lions (from Vikings)
-
Andre Carter II, EDGE, Army (6-7, 256 pounds)
The Lions can build on Adebawore by getting more help outside. Carter is appealing because of his production, smarts, freakish size and explosiveness.
56. Jacksonville Jaguars
-
Julius Brents, CB, Kansas State (6-3, 198 pounds)
The Jaguars could benefit by thinking of a perimeter coverage upgrade. Brents is another big, physical corner in this class who flashes real explosiveness.
57. New York Giants
-
Daiyan Henley, LB, Washington State (6-1, 225 pounds)
The Giants have a need for a rangy inside linebacker. Henley is a more popular target thanks to his speed to stop the run and his upside in coverage.
58. Dallas Cowboys
-
Wanya Morris, OT, Oklahoma (6-5, 307 pounds)
The Cowboys need to reshuffle their offensive line. Morris would give them options with the Smiths, rising Tyler and aging Tyron.
59. Buffalo Bills
-
Joe Tippmann, G, Wisconsin (6-6, 313 pounds)
The Badgers' latest interior offensive line prospect is rising. He has the potential to replace Mitch Morse at center in time, but first he can upgrade left guard in Buffalo.
60. Cincinnati Bengals
-
Jordan Battle, S, Alabama (6-1, 209 pounds)
The Bengals lost starting safeties Jessie Bates III (Falcons) and Vonn Bell (Panthers) in free agency. The well-rounded Battle would be a great fit with his speed and quickness, which allow for a ton of plays in coverage.
61. Chicago Bears (from 49ers through Panthers)
-
Siaki Ika, DT, Baylor (6-3, 335 pounds)
The Bears can continue to beef up their defensive front with a run-stopping nose.
62. Philadelphia Eagles
-
D.J. Turner, CB, Michigan (5-11, 178 pounds)
After getting Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round, the Eagles can think a little about their secondary's future behind Darius Slay and James Bradberry while also getting an immediate replacement for C.J. Gardner-Johnson in nickel coverage. Turner has the combination of smarts and athleticism that they covet.
63. Kansas City Chiefs
-
Matthew Bergeron, OT, Syracuse (6-5, 318 pounds)
The Chiefs need an athletic all-around tackle after losing Andrew Wylie in free agency.
NFL mock draft 2023: Round 3
64. Chicago Bears
-
Zach Harrison, EDGE, Ohio State (6-6, 274 pounds)
The Bears will keep on thinking defense and after getting Hall and Ika. They can continue to boost their pass rush with Harrison, whose frame makes him a potentially dominant player.
65. Houston Texans
-
Jaylon Jones, CB, Texas A&M (6-2, 200 pounds)
The Texans need to add more to their secondary and Jones is a good fit in DeMeco Ryans' 49ers-like zone scheme.
66. Philadelphia Eagles (from Cardinals)
- Christopher Smith, S, Georgia (5-11, 192 pounds)
The Eagles are beginning to look a lot like the Bulldogs' defense with Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Nakobe Dean and Nolan Smith, so they might as well fill a need with the ideal replacement for Gardner-Johnson in coverage.
MORE: Eagles stock up on Georgia defenders with Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith
67. Denver Broncos (from Colts)
-
Steve Avila, G, TCU (6-4, 332 pounds)
The Broncos added left guard Ben Powers and right tackle Mike McGlinchey in free agency but they can also think about an upgrade from Lloyd Cushenberry at center. Avila can block with power and agility.
68. Denver Broncos
-
Tyrique Stevenson, CB, Miami (6-0, 198 pounds)
The Broncos need depth at cornerback after landing stud Patrick Surtain II last year. Stevenson's attacking, physical style is a good fit for their defense.
69. Los Angeles Rams
-
Kayshon Boutte, WR, LSU (5-11, 195 pounds)
The Rams have been attached to Boutte of late after trading Allen Robinson. He can be an ideal outside complement to Cooper Kupp with his quickness, reliable hands and route-running.
70. Las Vegas Raiders
-
Keion White, DT, Georgia Tech (6-6, 285 pounds)
After not getting Jalen Carter in the first round, the Raiders can address their biggest defensive weakness here after getting nice value with Wilson and Sanders. White has a ton of upside with his size and athleticism.
71. New Orleans Saints
-
Rashee Rice, WR, SMU (6-1, 204 pounds)
The Saints could use a reliable, versatile route-running technician to help last year's first-rounder, Chris Olave. Michael Thomas is unreliable at this point.
72. Tennessee Titans
-
Hendon Hooker, QB, Tennessee (6-3, 217 pounds)
The Titans could target Hooker in the second round, too, but this would be great value here. They'd be getting a big-armed, potential franchise quarterback who should be ready to be a full-time starter by 2024.
73. Houston Texans (from Browns)
-
Cedric Tillman, WR, Tennessee (6-3, 213 pounds)
The Texans need a vertical threat for C.J. Stroud, especially with concerns over John Metchie's readiness and Robert Woods' age.
74. Cleveland Browns (from Jets)
-
Gervon Dexter Sr., DT, Florida (6-6, 310 pounds)
The Browns need to beef up their interior defensive line and Dexter has intriguing explosive upside.
75. Atlanta Falcons
-
Zacch Pickens, DT, South Carolina (6-4, 291 pounds)
The Falcons need to think about their defensive interior with Grady Jarrett getting older. The athletic Pickens can be a rotational player at first.
76. New England Patriots (from Panthers)
-
Tyler Scott, WR, Cincinnati (5-10, 177 pounds)
The Patriots need to keep upgrading their receiving corps even after getting JuJu Smith-Schuster to replace Jakobi Meyers. Scott offers the speedy vertical threat they need.
77. Los Angeles Rams (from Patriots through Dolphins)
-
Jammie Robinson, S, Florida State (5-11, 191 pounds)
The Rams need to give safety and versatility in coverage early attention after losing Taylor Rapp in free agency.
78. Green Bay Packers
-
Marvin Mims, WR, Oklahoma (6-0, 183 pounds)
The Packers need to address wide receiver in this draft to help Jordan Love. Mims would add another big playmaker alongside Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. He can burst after the catch as well as stretch the field.
79. Indianapolis Colts (from Commanders)
-
Moro Ojomo, DT, Texas (6-3, 292 pounds)
The Colts could use a versatile run-stopper to help DeForest Buckner up front.
80. Pittsburgh Steelers
-
Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, CB, TCU (5-8, 178 pounds)
The Steelers, after getting Joey Porter Jr., can address their weakness in nickel coverage here.
81. Arizona Cardinals (from Lions)
-
Keeanu Benton, DT, Wisconsin (6-4, 309 pounds)
The Cardinals need to replenish their defensive front after J.J. Watt retired and Zach Allen wasn't re-signed. Benton would give them a run-stuffer with pass-rush potential.
82. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
-
Tank Dell, WR, Houston (5-8, 165 pounds
The Buccaneers could use a dynamic dasher to increase their big-play ability along with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
83. Seattle Seahawks
-
JL Skinner, S, Boise State (6-4, 209 pounds)
After getting Devon Witherspoon to help Tariq Wilson, the Seahawks can add another piece to the "Legion of Boom" sequel that's in progress.
84. Miami Dolphins
-
Devon Achane, RB, Texas A&M (5-9, 188 pounds)
The Dolphins can't rely on Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. staying healthy. Achane has great upside as a dynamic change-of-pace back.
85. Los Angeles Chargers
- Sam LaPorta, TE, Iowa (6-3, 245 pounds)
The Chargers can move on from Gerald Everett easily and Justin Herbert would welcome another intermediate target to go with the field-stretching Quentin Johnston.
86. Baltimore Ravens
-
Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA (6-0, 214 pounds)
The Ravens should be worried about the durability of their backfield. Charbonnet's power running and three-down upside should be appealing here.
87. Minnesota Vikings
-
Kyu Blue Kelly, CB, Stanford (6-0, 191 pounds)
The Vikings need to address corner beyond free-agent addition Byron Murphy. Kelly is a good fit for their scheme.
88. Jacksonville Jaguars
-
Sydney Brown, S, Illinois (5-10, 211 pounds)
The Jaguars would really benefit from a potentially big upgrade at safety. Brown offers great physicality and versatility in coverage.
89. New York Giants
-
Tank Bigsby, RB, Auburn (6-0, 210 pounds)
The Giants need him for power-running depth behind Saquon Barkley.
90. Dallas Cowboys
-
Tucker Kraft, TE, South Dakota State (6-5, 254 pounds)
The Cowboys will be targeting a tight end to help replace Dalton Schultz. They wouldn't mind going with Kraft's athletic upside.
91. Buffalo Bills
-
Roschon Johnson, RB, Texas (6-0, 219 pounds)
The Bills need a powerful, fresh-legged power back to complement James Cook. Johnson would be great value to handle that role over oft-injured Damien Harris.
92. Cincinnati Bengals
-
Garrett Williams, CB, Syracuse (5-11, 192 pounds)
The Bengals need more reliable coverage opposite Chidobe Awuzie. Williams fits the bill with his physicality and versatility.
93. Carolina Panthers (from 49ers)
-
Noah Sewell, LB, Oregon (6-2, 246 pounds)
The Panthers need to become more active and fiercer inside on the second level in their new defensive scheme.
94. Arizona Cardinals (from Eagles)
-
Ji’Ayir Brown, S, Penn State (5-11, 203 pounds)
The Cardinals can keep on working on their secondary rebuild here after getting Kelee Ringo earlier.
95. Kansas City Chiefs
-
Karl Brooks, DT, Bowling Green (6-4, 300 pounds)
The Chiefs could bolster their defensive interior here after getting Andre Carter. Brooks would be ideal for Steve Spagnuolo's defense.
96. Arizona Cardinals (compensatory)
-
Tyjae Spears, RB, Tulane (5-10, 201 pounds)
The Cardinals could benefit from improving their change-of-pace depth behind James Conner.
97. Washington Commanders (compensatory)
-
Jaelyn Duncan, OT, Maryland (6-6, 306 pounds)
The Commanders can tap into the offensive line after landing cornerback Emmanuel Forbes in the first round. Duncan, with his powerful, quick frame, can start in time.
98. Cleveland Browns (compensatory)
- Nick Herbig, LB, Wisconsin (6-2, 240 pounds)
The Browns should keep working on the interior of their defense. After missing out on Jack Campbell, they could turn to a strong fallback option in Herbig.
99. San Francisco 49ers (compensatory)
-
Blake Freeland, OT, BYU (6-8, 302 pounds)
Freeland can help the 49ers recover at right tackle after losing Mike McGlinchey in free agency.
MORE: How the 49ers loaded up on compensatory picks thanks to NFL's Rooney Rule
100. Las Vegas Raiders (from Chiefs through Giants, compensatory)
-
Byron Young, DT, Alabama (6-3, 294 pounds)
The Raiders are that bad on the interior defensive line that they should double up with this fine run stuffer.
101. San Francisco 49ers (compensatory)
- Jayden Reed, WR, Michigan State (5-11, 187 pounds)
The 49ers have liked Reed as a complement to Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. He can be a reliable inside possession receiver with some big-play juice.
102. San Francisco 49ers (compensatory)
-
Eli Ricks, CB, Alabama (6-2, 188 pounds)
The 49ers lost Emmanuel Moseley in free agency. Ricks makes sense as a value pick here.
