NFL free agency tracker 2023: Live updates on news, rumors, signings and trades image

The 2023 edition of NFL free agency is here, and there has already been plenty of movement around the league.

The week leading up to free agency wasn't quite as dramatic in 2023 as it was in 2022. There weren't any big-time quarterback trades, though Derek Carr, Geno Smith and Daniel Jones all agreed to new contracts that further reset the NFL's quarterback market.

That said, there were plenty of rumors about the futures of Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson. While Rodgers has made it clear he would like to play in New York in 2023, that deal is yet to be completed.

As for Jackson, the Ravens slapped him with the franchise tag, but it was of the non-exclusive variety. That means that interested teams could sign Jackson to an offer sheet if they so desire.

Even after the initial flurry of movement, there are some free agents still out there, most notably Odell Beckham Jr., who is seemingly still trying to convince teams his ACL is fully healed.

Sporting News will be tracking all of the notable NFL free agent signings and trades during the 2023 NFL offseason. Follow along with all the latest rumors and news below.

March 26

6:01 p.m. — Sean Payton seemingly put the kabbash on the Jerry Jeudy-Courtland Sutton trade talk, saying "I see and read just like everyone else… but we're not trading those two players.” Obviously that could be leveraging on the part of Payton, but the price to acquire one of those receivers is likely exorbitant.

March 25

7:44 p.m. — A fun reunion after an awkward breakup, Bobby Wagner is rejoining the Seahawks after a year with the Rams. It will be a one-year, $7 million deal, according to noted newsbreaker Quandre Diggs.

March 23

1:59 p.m. — Jamison Crowder is back in the NFC East, as the Giants inked him to a 1-year deal. Crowder hardly saw the field in Buffalo last season, he might get more chances on a Giants wide receiver corps that is relatively weak.

March 21

2:10 p.m. — The Cowboys are adding to their running back room after parting with Ezekiel Elliott. Ronald Jones will be joining the team after he won a Super Bowl ring with the Chiefs. Jones played sparingly for Kansas City, generating just 92 yards on 18 touches throughout the season.

10:53 a.m. — Trade talks surrounding DeAndre Hopkins are "ramping up," per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It is expected that Hopkins will have to have his contract altered as part of any deal, and the Cardinals may have to foot some of the bill to get the assets they like in exchange for his services.

March 20

7:53 p.m.  — Damien Harris is leaving New England to begin his tour around the AFC East. The former Patriots' running back is now signing with the Buffalo Bills on a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The team saw Devin Singletary depart earlier today and now has his replacement.

5:29 p.m. — The Texans are not done yet, this time adding Devin Singletary to the backfield. He'll partner up with Dameon Pierce, who had an impressive rookie season in Houston. The former Buffalo Bills running back should have plenty of opportunity in a 49ers style offense.

5:27 p.m. — The Texans are signing Dalton Schultz to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The former Cowboys tight end has been a go-to guy for Dak Prescott in recent years, totaling 198 catches and 17 touchdowns over the last three seasons.

9:48 a.m. -- Whoever plays quarterback for the Texans in 2023, Laremy Tunsil will be there to serve as a security blanket. The veteran left tackle has agreed to a three-year, $75 million extension with Houston. The $25 million average annual value is the highest among tackles.

4:31 p.m. -- The great defense in San Francisco keeps getting better. Defensive back Myles Hartsfield, who wasn't tendered an offer from the Panthers, has signed a deal to re-join former Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks in San Francisco. 11:43 a.m. -- Odell Beckham is refuting the report that he's looking for at least $20 million per year in a deal, saying that "all I'm sayin is 4 AINT enough." According to The Score's Jordan Schultz, the Chiefs, Ravens, Cowboys and Jets have been the most active teams trying to sign Beckham.

March 17

8:06 p.m. -- The Bengals lost both last year's starting safeties in free agency. With 2021 first-round pick Daxton Hill likely to replace Jessie Bates, Cincinnati found its replacement for Vonn Bell next to Hill, signing former Rams safety Nick Scott to a three-year, $12 million deal. Scott started 16 games last year and picked off two passes while tallying a career-best 86 tackles.

1:35 p.m. -- CBS Sports' Josina Anderson reports that the Seahawks have agreed to a deal with former Giants safety Julian Love. The terms of the contract, as laid out by ESPN's Adam Schefter, are as such: two years, $12 million.

11:49 a.m. -- The Raiders' press conference for Jimmy Garoppolo was held off for an unknown reason, prompting speculation that the deal for the former 49ers QB could be in jeopardy. Las Vegas fans can breathe a sigh of relief as NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports the deal is complete.

10:43 a.m. -- Joe Cardona has been the long-snapper in New England since 2015. He's not going anywhere anytime soon as New England locked him up on a four-year, $6.3 million deal that will make him the highest-paid player at his position.

10:42 a.m. -- The Bengals signed Orlando Brown with the plan to install him at left tackle. Cincinnati's left tackle of the past three seasons, Jonah Williams, evidently doesn't plan to shift to the right side. Williams, the 11th pick in 2019, has requested a trade from the Bengals.

9:42 a.m. -- The Chiefs continue to shore up the offensive line, bringing back backup guard Nick Allegretti. Alleretti started three games last season and appeared in all 17 for the Chiefs. He posted a 52.5 PFF grade in 2022.

7:46 a.m. -- Mike Gesicki is staying in the AFC East. The Patriots are reportedly signing the former Dolphins tight end to a one-year, $9 million. He started only one game last season, but appeared in all 17 games, and caught 32 passes for 362 yards with five touchdowns.

2 a.m. -- The Seahawks are continuing to improve the defense, reportedly coming to an agreement with former Steelers linebacker Devin Bush on a one-year deal. Bush had 81 combined tackles, including two for a loss, while playing all 17 games.

6:59 p.m. -- The Bears will land former NFC North rival TE Robert Tonyan, taking an option off the board for Rodgers and the Jets, per Adam Schefter.

6:08 p.m. -- Per Benjamin Allbright, several teams are in on the Broncos' Jerry Jeudy, including the Cowboys, Patriots, and Browns. The price tag would, of course, be steep for the receiver. But if a team is willing to pay it, the Broncos are clearly at least entertaining offers.

5:45 p.m. -- The Giants have re-signed receiver Darius Slayton to a two-year deal worth up to $16.5 million, per Garafolo.

3:53 p.m. — Trysten Hill is set to join the Browns. The former second-round pick of the Cowboys played for Dallas and the Cardinals last season. He has just 1.5 sacks in 31 career games (five starts).

2:36 p.m. — Another minor signing: T.Y. McGill is joining the 49ers on a one-year deal. The veteran defensive tackle has 43 tackles and 5.5 sacks over his eight-year career to date.

2:11 p.m. — The Cowboys were also known to be in the Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes, but they have some competition. Jordan Schultz of The Score reports that the Chiefs and Ravens are among the teams that have expressed an interest in signing Beckham.

1:58 p.m. — CJ Goodwin has been a key part of the Cowboys' special teams units in recent years and he will remain in Dallas on a one-year deal, per Schefter.

1:19 p.m. — The Bengals are bringing Trent Taylor back on a one-year deal. He averaged 10.3 yards per punt return and figures to be a key special teams player for Cincinnati. He also is known for his backflips when the Bengals are in victory formation.

12:56 p.m. — The Giants are adding a talented receiver to their roster, as Jordan Schultz of The Score reports that Parris Campbell is set to sign with New York. Campbell had 62 catches for 623 yards and five total touchdowns during a breakout year with the Colts in 2022.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that the deal will be for one year and $3 million.

12:51 p.m. — Here's a surprise: Chargers safety Nasir Adderley is retiring from the NFL at age 25. He announced his decision in an Instagram post and wrote the following:

"My health is above anything and everyone around me knows that."

Adderley finishes his career with 232 tackles and three interceptions in 50 games (44 starts) over four seasons.

12:25 p.m. — The Dolphins are adding another receiver. Braxton Berrios, who spent the last four seasons of his career with the Jets, is signing in Miami, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Berrios' best season came in 2021, when he caught 46 passes for 431 yards and two touchdowns and was named an All-Pro returner.

12:17 p.m. — The Steelers could bring back a familiar face in 2023. CBS Sports' Josina Anderson reports that Pittsburgh has "preliminary interest" in signing the recently released Bud Dupree — provided that he is healthy. Dupree was a first-round pick by the Steelers in 2015 and totaled 39.5 sacks in six seasons with the team.

11:42 a.m. — Nyheim Hines delivered one of the most memorable performances of the year for the Bills in Week 18 against the Patriots when he returned two kickoffs for a touchdown. Buffalo is bringing him back. The team agreed to a new deal with Hines that will give him plenty of incentives and keep the cap number down for the Bills.

11:25 a.m. — The Patriots continue to look at wide receiver options. New England is meeting with Olabisi Johnson, a former Vikings receiver who caught three touchdowns and had 294 yards in 2019 as a rookie, but who has missed both the 2021 and 2022 seasons with torn ACLs in both preseasons.

11:18 a.m. — After signing one linebacker, the Steelers are cutting another. Myles Jack, following his first year in the Steel City, is being released. He appeared in 15 games for Pittsburgh with 13 starts and tallied 104 tackles without any sacks.

10:51 a.m. — The Steelers are adding some linebacker depth, signing 28-year-old Elandon Roberts. Roberts started all 17 games for the Dolphins a season ago and tallied a career-best 4.5 sacks and 107 combined tackles in his third season with the Dolphins.

9:49 a.m. — The Patriots are hosting veteran safety Taylor Rapp on Thursday. Rapp has averaged 96 tackles, three interceptions, six pass defenses and a sack per 17 games played over the last two seasons. He could help the team to replace the now-retired Devin McCourty.

9:12 a.m. — The Commanders are re-signing Tyler Larsen, who performed well in relief of Chase Roullier at center last season.

8:55 a.m. — The Dolphins are adding some experience to their offensive line. Dan Feeney, who has appeared in 96 career games with 64 starts at guard and center, had agreed to a one-year to take his talents to South Beach, per Peter Schrager.

8:18 a.m. — The Cowboys have restructured the contract of veteran offensive tackle Tyron Smith. The team was forced to cut Ezekiel Elliott on Wednesday, but Smith — another long-term starter for the Cowboys — will hang around. He will likely remain at tackle. The only question is whether he will play on the left side with Tyler Smith at guard or if he will play right tackle until Terence Steele is ready to return from a torn ACL.

8:16 a.m. — The Seahawks are bringing in a couple of defensive players for visits on Thursday, per Schefter. They are Giants safety Julian Love and speedy Steelers linebacker Devin Bush.

8:14 a.m. — One more running back signing to catch up on: the Patriots are signing James Robinson to a two-year deal worth $8 million, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The contract is similar to the one given by the Vikings to Mattison. Robinson totaled 425 rushing yards and three touchdowns across 110 carries with the Jaguars and Jets in 2022.

8:12 a.m. — The Vikings are retaining running back Alexander Mattison, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Mattison can make up to $8 million over the two-year course of the deal. Will he take a larger role with the team or continue to play behind Dalvin Cook? Only time will tell.

8:09 a.m. — The Bears brought in PJ Walker to serve as a backup quarterback behind Justin Fields on Thursday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Walker will rejoin his former Panthers teammate D.J. Moore, with whom he connected on one of the biggest plays of the 2022 NFL season — a 62-yard Hail Mary-type play against the Falcons.

March 15

11:03 p.m. — Well, this is interesting. After the Eagles reportedly released Darius Slay earlier today, Adam Schefter is now reporting that never officially happened. It sounds like there's a very good chance Slay will stay in Philly after all. The cornerback would no doubt have drawn plenty of interest on the open market.

10:18 p.m. — This is a huge move at the top of AFC. Four-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champ Orlando Brown is leaving the Chiefs to sign a four-year, $64 million deal with the Bengals. The deal includes a $31 million signing bonus — the largest ever for an offensive lineman. Joe Burrow has to be a very happy man right now.

7:30 p.m. — Another running back is on the move. Former Eagle Miles Sanders is headed to the Panthers, per Ian Rapoport. Another big addition for Carolina's offense — and another potential weapon for a new quarterback.

7:10 p.m. — One of this offseason's biggest free agents at running back has found a new home. Jamaal Williams, formerly of the Lions, is signing with the Saints on a three-year, $12 million deal. Williams set a Detroit franchise record with 17 touchdowns last season. He'll presumably join Alvin Kamara as a member of New Orleans' backfield in 2023.

6:55 p.m. — There's a new Allen in Buffalo. Former Texans quarterback Kyle Allen is joining the Bills to compete for a backup spot behind Josh Allen. Kyle has started 19 games in his NFL career with the Texans, Commanders and Panthers.

6:31 p.m. — Fletcher Cox will return to the Eagles next season. The veteran defensive tackle signed a one-year, $10 million deal to stay with the team, per Adam Schefter. He was drafted by the Eagles in 2012 and has spent his entire NFL career with the organization. Schefter reported he turned down more money elsewhere to remain in Philadelphia.

5:13 p.m. — Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has released a statement regarding the decision to part ways with Ezekiel Elliott.

"Zeke's impact and influence is seared into the Cowboys franchise in a very special and indelible way," he wrote. "We will always have a special place and love for Zeke and what he means to our Cowboys family, both as a person and a player. That will never change."

4:30 p.m. — Odell Beckham Jr. posted a video of himself working out. This comes less than a week after his workout in front of NFL teams as he looks to return from a torn ACL that sidelined him for all of the 2022 season.

4:27 p.m. — In defensive back news, the Dolphins have picked up veteran safety DeShon Elliott from the Lions, per Rapoport, while the Jaguars are signing Tevaughn Campbell to a one-year deal, per Schefter.

4:17 p.m. — Two defensive line signings: Rapoport reports that Efe Obada is signing a one-year, $3 million deal to remain with the Commanders while the Colts are signing former first-round pick Taven Bryan to a one-year deal worth $4.5 million, per Schefter.

4:06 p.m. — The Commanders are adding a veteran quarterback to the fold. They have signed Jacoby Brissett, per ESPN's Dianna Russini. He will likely compete with Sam Howell for the starting job and provides the team with experience in the quarterback room.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the deal is worth up to $10 million for one season.

3:43 p.m. — Garafolo reports that Hayden Hurst's contract with the Panthers is worth up to $21.75 million over three years.

3:40 p.m. — The Ravens have the right to match any contract offer to Lamar Jackson this offseason, and they are retaining that right with Tyler Huntley too, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

3:10 p.m. — The Texans are adding a big body to their front seven, as Sheldon Rankins is joining them on a one-year deal worth $10.5 million. Rankins spent each of the last two seasons with the Jets and posted three sacks in each campaign.

3:08 p.m. — JuJu Smith-Schuster seems very excited to be joining the Patriots on a multi-year deal.

3:03 p.m. — The 49ers are making a high-upside move on the defensive line. Clelin Ferrell is joining them on a one-year deal, per Schefter. Ferrell was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, but he has logged just 10 sacks during his career to date.

3:01 p.m. —  The Patriots are adding a receiver in free agency. JuJu Smith-Schuster will sign with the team after spending the 2022 season with the Chiefs, per NFL Network's Taylor Bisciotti. Smith-Schuster will help to replace Jakobi Meyers as an inside/outside threat and slot receiver.

Smith-Schuster will receive a three-year deal worth $33 million, the same value as the deal signed by Meyers. Smith-Schuster, however, will receive $22.5 million in guarantees to Meyers' $21 million.

2:37 p.m. — The Ravens are keeping one of their depth running backs and special teams ace Justice Hill on a two-year deal worth $4.5 million, per Schefter.

2:22 p.m. — NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Buccaneers are re-signing LB Lavonte David to a one-year, $7 million contract. It appeared David might leave Tampa after more than a decade thanks to the Bucs' salary cap crunch, but the anchor of the defense is back for at least one more year.

1:49 p.m. — As part of his appearance on McAfee's show, Rodgers said that he didn't give the Jets a list of players to target. He did, however, vouch for some of his former teammates and guys like Odell Beckham Jr.

Those two things sound similar, but Rodgers was adamant that he didn't make a formal demand about these signings.

1:26 p.m. — Rodgers has revealed his future on "The Pat McAfee Show." He wants to play, and he knows that the Packers are ready to move on from him. As such, he's planning on playing for the Jets. Green Bay and New York just have to agree on a trade package to make that happen, but it is expected to at this time.

12:58 p.m. — The Patriots are in the market for a receiver after losing Jakobi Meyers in free agency. They have checked in on DeAndre Hopkins and Jerry Jeudy, according to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, after attending the Odell Beckham Jr. workout earlier in the week.

12:55 p.m. — The Bills are keeping one of their most important free agents. Safety Jordan Poyer, an All-Pro talent, will be returning to the team, per Rapoport.

12:47 p.m. — The latest update on Aaron Rodgers from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, who reports the Jets and Packers are still negotiating a deal.

Contrary to another report, though, Pelissero says the Packers aren't seeking multiple first-round picks.

11:51 a.m. — The Buccaneers are moving into the post-Tom Brady era and have found a veteran to compete with Kyle Trask. That would be former No. 1 overall pick, Baker Mayfield, who agreed to one-year, $8.5 million deal with Tampa Bay on Wednseday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

11:20 a.m. — The Saints have lost a handful of defensive players this year, but they added one to the fold on Wednesday. New Orleans signed Khalen Saunders away from the Super Bowl champion Chiefs, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

11:12 a.m. — Well, it doesn't seem that Eagles receiver A.J. Brown is too happy that Darius Slay is going to be released by the Eagles.

10:54 a.m. — Darius Slay's time with the Eagles has come to an end. Philadelphia is expected to release him a deal after signing James Bradberry to a long-term, lucrative contract.

Slay showed his love for Eagles fans — and the city of Philadelphia — ahead of his release.

10:12 a.m. — It seems as though the Ezekiel Elliott era in Dallas is coming to an end. Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the Cowboys are expected to part with the two-time rushing champion. Elliott's efficacy has waned in recent seasons, so it makes sense for the Cowboys to part ways with him.

9:58 a.m. — The Patriots continue to add depth on their offensive line, as veteran right tackle Riley Reiff is heading to New England, per ESPN's Dianna Russini. Reiff, 34, has started 149 games during his career and has played both tackle spots.

9:52 a.m. — The Bills are adding a bit of speed to their receiving corps. They signed Deonte Harty to a contract, per Rapoport and Pelissero. Harty caught just two passes for 13 yards for the Saints in 2022 but had 570 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the prior campaign.

9:41 a.m. — The Panthers are adding a new tight end to the mix, per Rapoport. Hayden Hurst is signing with them after he spent the 2022 season with the Bengals. The deal will be a three-year pact, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Hurst played his college ball at South Carolina, so this is a homecoming of sorts for him.

9:32 a.m. — ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Rodgers wants to play for the Jets, but he cautions that there are "layers" to the situation. Notably, he lists the terms of a Rodgers trade and a contract restructure with the quarterback as hurdles that the two sides would need to clear before Rodgers can officially be a Jet.

So, Rodgers' appearance on the McAfee show may help to move this saga closer to an end, but it might not officially mark the end of it.

9:23 a.m. — Also, it's worth a reminder that NFL teams can officially start talking to Lamar Jackson at 4:01 p.m. ET on Wednesday — if they so desire. Thus far, many teams have denied interest in speaking with Jackson, who is on a non-exclusive franchise tag during the offseason.

9:22 a.m. — Some more Patriots news: Jabrill Peppers' two-year deal with the club is worth up to $11 million, per ESPN's Field Yates.

9:17 a.m. — The Patriots are keeping a couple of their restricted free agents — cornerback Myles Bryant and offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste — around for another season, per Ben Volin of The Boston Globe.

8:47 a.m. — The Steelers have made a key signing at the linebacker position. They agreed to a three-year deal with Cole Holcomb, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Holcomb had 69 tackles in just seven games last season for the Commanders.

8:19 a.m. — The Colts are retaining some of their receiver depth, as Ashton Dulin is returning to the team, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

8:09 a.m. — Welcome to the Ides of March. Today may well be Aaron Rodgers decision day and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that it seems like a "foregone conclusion" that will happen.

More from Rapoport on the situation below.

March 14

10:58 p.m. — The Titans have bolstered their pass rush by adding former Jaguars edge rusher Arden Key. Key racked up 4.5 sacks and 15 QB hits with Jacksonville in 2022. He has also spent time with the Raiders and 49ers in his five year NFL career.

10:13 p.m. — The Bears have added another running back in wake of Montgomery's departure. They've agreed to a two-year, $4.5 million contract with former Seahawks running back Travis Homer, per Adam Schefter.

10:10 p.m. — Cornerback Byron Murphy is leaving the Cardinals to sign with the Vikings, per Ian Rapoport. He'll reportedly sign a two-year, $22 million deal. That will help Minnesota fill the void left by Patrick Peterson's departure to the Steelers.

9:41 p.m. — Former Texans and 49ers defensive tackle Charles Omenihu has reportedly agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal with the Chiefs. The 25-year-old is coming off the best NFL season of his young career, in which he tallied 4.5 sacks and 16 quarterback hits.

8:40 p.m. — The Cardinals are re-signing starting guard Will Hernandez on a two-year, $9 million deal. A big piece of the offensive line commits his future to Arizona.

8:00 p.m. — The Colts add another piece to their defense. They have reached an agreement with former 49ers defensive end Samson Ebukam on a three-year, $27 million max deal. The former Eastern Washington Eagle has logged at least 4.5 sacks in each of the last four seasons.

7:34 p.m. — Jabrill Peppers is finalizing a deal to re-sign with the Patriots, per Adam Schefter. The former Browns and Giants safety spent his second season in New England in 2022. Despite coming off a torn ACL from the previous year, he played well and has now been rewarded with a new contract.

6:02 p.m. — The Indianapolis Colts are moving on from Matt Ryan, leaving the quarterback with an uncertain future. Ryan had a tough season with the Colts and was benched multiple times throughout the year.

6:00 p.m. — Andy Dalton is heading to Carolina. The Panthers have agreed on a two-year, $10 million deal with the quarterback, who recently played for the division rival Saints. With the Panthers in position to draft a signal caller with the draft's top selection, Dalton provides security and can serve as a potential mentor in Carolina.

5:39 p.m. — Welcome back to the Eagles, James Bradberry. The All-Pro cornerback will remain in Philadelphia after agreeing to a three-year, $38 million deal that is worth up to $44 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. With rumors about the team potentially trading fellow CB Darius Slay, this was a move the Eagles had to make.

5:14 p.m. — The Cowboys are acquiring the five-time Pro Bowl cornerback Stephon Gilmore from the Colts for a fifth-round pick. Gilmore will slot in opposite Trevon Diggs in the Dallas secondary. Gilmore started 16 games for Indianapolis last season after a few injury-plagued years.

5:10 p.m. — The Steelers are bringing back defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi on a three-year, $28.75 million deal. Ogunjobi started 16 games for the Steelers in 2022, his first year with the team. The 28-year-old previously played for the AFC North rival Bengals and Browns.

4:31 p.m. — The Commanders are releasing running back J.D. McKissic. The 29-year-old veteran played in eight games for the team last season and logged 268 scrimmage yards on 49 touches.

4:20 p.m. — Allen Lazard is, in fact, signing with the Jets. He has agreed to a four-year deal worth $44 million to join the Jets, per Jordan Schultz of The Score. That may put the Jets one step closer to landing Aaron Rodgers.

4:08 p.m. — A couple more notes from Fowler: the Texans are bringing back edge rusher Derek Rivers on a one-year deal while the Browns have re-signed linebacker Sione Takitaki to a one-year, $2.6 million deal after he tore his ACL in December.

4:07 p.m. — The Panthers re-signed center Bradley Bozeman earlier in the week, but they are releasing right guard Pat Elflein on Tuesday. The move saves them $4.8 million, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

4:03 p.m. — The Chargers have agreed to a three-year contract with Trey Pipkins, who started 14 games at right tackle for the team last season. The Sioux Falls product was a third-round pick by the Chargers in the 2019 NFL Draft.

4:01 p.m. — As expected, it looks like Miles Sanders' time with the Eagles has come to an end. He posted the following on Twitter shortly after Philadelphia signed Rashaad Penny on Tuesday.

3:59 p.m. — The Patriots are adding another offensive tackle to the mix, as they signed Calvin Anderson to a two-year deal, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

3:54 p.m. — The Titans are expected to sign 49ers linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, per ESPN's Dianna Russini. Al-Shaair had 44 tackles in 12 games (nine starts) last season.

3:44 p.m. — Evidently, the Packers offered the Raiders a second-round pick for Darren Waller ahead of last year's trade deadline, per Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. They turned it down.

If that pick was the Packers' 2023 selection, it would have been No. 45 overall. So, Las Vegas may have cost itself prime draft positioning by waiting.

3:24 p.m. — John Cominsky is staying with the Lions. He agreed to a two-year deal worth $8.5 million after a breakout, four-sack season as a rotational pass rusher.

3:13 p.m. — The Eagles are adding a new running back to their ranks. Rashaad Penny will be coming over from the Seahawks, per Rapoport

Penny ran for 346 yards and two touchdowns on 57 carries (6.1 ypc) in five games for the Seahawks last season. He is likely to replace Miles Sanders, who remains available as a free agent, in Philadelphia.

2:59 p.m. — The Lions are adding another cornerback to their secondary. They already signed Cam Sutton to a lucrative deal and will now add 49ers corner Emmanuel Moseley to the fold on a one-year, $6 million deal, per Schefter.

2:28 p.m. — The Raiders are making another blockbuster move. They are sending tight end Darren Waller to the Giants in exchange for the 100th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That leaves Foster Moreau as the top tight end on Las Vegas' roster.

2:24 p.m. — Both of the Dolphins running backs from last season are set to return. Jeff Wilson Jr. signed a two-year deal worth up to $8.2 million to remain in Miami. He and Raheem Mostert will be a two-headed monster in the backfield once again.

2:21 p.m. — The good news for Jets fans: Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports that there is a "strong feeling" that Rodgers will be a Jet. The bad news: Players are starting to get frustrated with how long the process is taking.

2:18 p.m. — Could Elijah Moore be traded amid all the buzz about the Jets signing Aaron Rodgers' weapons? CBS Sports' Josina Anderson shut that down quickly, replying "no" when questioned about it on Twitter.

2:15 p.m. — Another small offensive line signing: The Raiders are bringing back right tackle Brandon Parker on a one-year deal worth up to $4 million.

2:12 p.m. — The Steelers have added some more outside help in free agency. They agreed to a two-year contract with guard Nate Herbig, who played for the Jets last year. The Steelers view him as a starter, so he could factor into the mix at left guard.

1:59 p.m. — In more center news, the 49ers are bringing back Jake Brendel on a four-year deal, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The Jets reportedly had an interest in signing Brendel before San Francisco struck a deal.

Rapoport later reported that the deal is expected to be worth up to $20 million with $8 million in guarantees.

1:56 p.m. — Garrett Bradbury is staying with the Vikings. The 2019 first-round pick will continue on as Kirk Cousins' center for the reasonable price of $15.75 million over three years.

1:42 p.m. — Michael Thomas is staying with the Saints. He is set to make up to $15 million on a restructured, one-year deal, per Schefter.

Thomas has played in just 10 games since the start of the 2020 NFL season.

1:40 p.m. — ESPN's Dianna Russini reports that Aaron Rodgers has given the Jets a wish list of free agents to target. That explains New York's interest in Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and Marcedes Lewis.

Another name on Rodgers' list? Odell Beckham Jr. Let's see if Rodgers gets his players — and then if he is willing to even play during the 2023 NFL season.

1:18 p.m. — The Chargers granted permission for Austin Ekeler to seek a trade, per Schefter. You can find a full list of teams that could trade for the talented running back here.

1:08 p.m. — The Jets are apparently interested in another former Packers offensive weapon, Marcedes Lewis. They are among the teams vying for his service along with the Raiders. Could this be another ploy in New York's plot to trade for Aaron Rodgers?

12:39 p.m. — The Vikings are going to restructure Kirk Cousins' contract to free up some cap space.

12:38 p.m. — On the Adam Schefter podcast, ESPN's NFL insider reported Jackson turned down an offer from the Ravens that included $200 million guaranteed. Jackson appears to be refuting that report.

12:29 p.m. — The Jaguars are bringing back safety Andrew Wingard. The former undrafted free agent started 15 games in 2021 and appeared in all 17 in 2022 (with three starts). He picked off a pass, defended another and forced a fumble. The deal is reportedly for three years and a base value of $9.6 million, with a chance to go as high as $13.8 million. He is guaranteed $6 million.

12:24 p.m. — NFL Network's Mike Garafolo said on Tuesday that there is still no update on Rodgers' status. He said the Jets and Rodgers' camp have communicated in the past 24 hours.

12:16 p.m. — The Panthers are letting restricted free agent Myles Hartsfield become an unrestricted free agent. He had 59 tackles and two pass defenses in 15 games (10 starts) last season.

12:11 p.m. — Pat McAfee does not have an update about Aaron Rodgers' future at this time. This has been the case throughout Rodgers' decision-making process.

11:49 a.m. — The Seahawks are releasing defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, a day after signing Dre'Mont Jones. Jefferson had a career-best 5.5 sacks last season while playing for his third different team in three years. Now, the 29-year-old will look to join his fourth.

11:36 a.m. — CBS Sports' Josina Anderson reports that the Cowboys are "still working on" a contract with Dante Fowler Jr., who had six sacks as a rotational player in Dallas last season.

11:22 a.m. — The Jets are now the only team working on a contract with Allen Lazard, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He also reports that Randall Cobb will probably sign with the Jets if Aaron Rodgers joins the team.

11:11 a.m. — Raheem Mostert is staying with Mike McDaniel. He agreed to a two-year extension with the Dolphins worth up to $7.5 million. Mostert had 1,093 scrimmage yards last season and five total touchdowns.

10:26 a.m. — The Cowboys are retaining safety Donovan Wilson on a three-year contract extension. The deal will be worth up to $24 million with $13.5 million guaranteed over the first two years, per Garafolo.

9:57 a.m. — The Raiders are adding another offensive weapon who is familiar with Josh McDaniels. Jakobi Meyers will be signing in Las Vegas on a three-year deal worth up to $33 million. It contains within it $21 million in guarantees, per Rapoport.

Meyers had 67 catches for 804 yards and a career-high six touchdowns with the Patriots in 2022. He also was responsible for the ill-fated lateral that caused the Patriots to lose to Las Vegas last season, so he will look to erase that memory in his first home game with Las Vegas.

9:49 a.m. — Jason Kelce will remain the highest-paid center in the NFL after his decision to return to the Eagles for another season. Rapoport reports that Kelce will make up to $14.75 million on his one-year deal with the Eagles.

9:46 a.m. — Shaq Mason is being traded for the second time in as many offseasons. The Buccaneers are sending him to the Texans after acquiring him from the Patriots in 2022. The move will save the Buccaneers about $8.5 million in cash and $5.2 million in cap space.

Rapoport reports that the teams will swap late-round picks as a part of the deal, with the Texans getting a seventh-round pick and the Buccaneers acquiring a sixth-rounder.

9:13 a.m. — Eric Kendricks, who signed with the Chargers on Monday, did so on a two-year deal worth $13.25 million, per Rapoport. Kendricks has posted over 100 tackles in seven consecutive seasons.

8:55 a.m. — The Vikings are bringing back veteran backup Nick Mullens, who spent 2022 with the team as Kirk Cousins' backup. Cousins didn't miss a start during the season, but Mullens is a solid, experienced No. 2 signal-caller. So, it makes sense that the Vikings would want to keep him.

8:28 a.m. — The Jets are expected to make an addition to their receiving corps. They are "actively working to reach an agreement" with former Packers receiver Allen Lazard, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Lazard worked with Nathaniel Hackett during his time as Green Bay's offensive coordinator, but more importantly, he has a history and chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. Could this be a sign that Rodgers is New York bound? It certainly feels that way.

8:22 a.m. — Taylor Heinicke's deal with the Falcons is a sizable one. He will be paid up to $20 million over two years. That makes him one of the highest-paid backups league-wide. Not bad for a guy who was out of football before signing as Washington's emergency quarterback in 2020.

8:17 a.m. — NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also says that nothing is done with Rodgers yet. He explained that all options are still on the table for the veteran quarterback as part of his wrap-up of the first day of free agency. More on that, and some other top deals from Day 1, in the video below.

8:16 a.m. — What's the situation with Aaron Rodgers? ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio wrote overnight that a deal to the Jets is still expected, but nothing is done yet.

As such, the wait will continue.

8:13 a.m. — The Falcons are adding a veteran to their quarterback room. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Atlanta is signing Taylor Heinicke, who posted a 12-11-1 record in 24 games as a starter for the Commanders over the last two seasons.

5:03 p.m. — The Buccaneers are surprisingly able to retain CB Jamel Dean, giving him a four-year, $52 million deal. Big loss for cornerback-needy teams elsewhere.

4:57 p.m. — Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, DE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo is signing a three-year deal with the Browns. Okoronkwo made eight starts for the Texans in 2022 and recorded five sacks over 17 games.

Stay tuned for more info.

2:59 p.m. — The Vikings are adding another tight end to the mix. Josh Oliver has agreed to a three-year, $21 million contract with the team. He has just 26 career receptions for 230 yards and two touchdowns, but he is one of the best blocking tight ends in the league. Thus, the solid pay day.

2:01 p.m. — The Commanders have a new starting right tackle. Andrew Wylie has signed a three-year deal worth up to $24 million to play in Washington. Eric Bieniemy coached him with the Chiefs and should know him well. It's also noteworthy that Kansas City's other free-agent tackle, Orlando Brown Jr., hasn't yet signed anywhere.

1:59 p.m. — One of the available Connor McGoverns has signed in free agency. This McGovern plays for the Cowboys and was a top sub on the interior offensive line last year. He could be a starter with the Bills, who are giving him just under $8 million in AAV.

1:58 p.m. — Mike White has found a new home. He will be joining Mike McDaniel and the Dolphins as a backup to Tua Tagovailoa. McDaniel worked with former Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur in San Francisco, so this may have influenced his decision in signing the journeyman.

Sutton recorded a career-high three picks and 15 pass defenses last season.

1:22 p.m. — The Broncos are fixing their longstanding issues at right tackle. They are signing Mike McGlinchey away from the 49ers, per ESPN's Dianna Russini. McGlinchey was PFF's 35th-ranked tackle out of 81 eligible players at the position.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that McGlinchey's deal with the Broncos will be worth $87.5 million over five seasons. He will also get $50 million in guarantees.

1:19 p.m. — Javon Hargrave is staying in the NFC, but he will no longer play for the Eagles. He agreed to a four-year, $84 million contract with the 49ers after he helped Philadelphia reach the Super Bowl in 2023. Hargrave had 11.5 sacks last year but turned 30 on eve of the Super Bowl.

1:16 p.m. — Speaking of the Buccaneers, they are not the only team pursuing Baker Mayfield. Pelissero reports that "several other teams" are expressing an interest in Mayfield. It will be interesting to see whether he can agree to a deal out of the chute or whether the likes of Jimmy Garoppolo et. al. will have to be signed first.

1:15 p.m. — Shaq Mason's time with the Buccaneers appears to be coming to an end. Tampa Bay plans to release the veteran if they can't trade him, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Moving off Mason would save the team $8.5 million.

1:08 p.m. — The Broncos are adding another quarterback to the mix, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Former Raiders and Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham is joining Denver on a two-year deal worth $10 million. Rapoport reports that Stidham's relationship with new Broncos quarterback coach Davis Webb is part of what convinced him to become Russell Wilson's backup.

12:59 p.m. — The versatile Andrew Beck is leaving the Broncos and joining the Texans on a two-year deal worth up to $6.75 million. Beck initially signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2019, when Texans general manager Nick Caserio was running the show in New England.

12:58 p.m. — David Onyemata is joining the Falcons. The veteran defensive tackle will reunite with Ryan Nielsen, who is Atlanta's defensive coordinator, after spending the first seven years of his career with the Saints.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Onyemata's deal will be worth up to $35 million over three years and contains $24.5 million in guarantees.

12:56 p.m. — The Packers are making another non-Aaron-Rodgers-related move. They have signed All-Pro returner Keisean Nixon to a one-year deal worth up to $6 million. Nixon averaged 28.8 yards per kick return and led the league in total returns (35), total yards (1,009) and had a 105-yard touchdown on the season.

12:53 p.m. — Denver may continue to reshape its roster and supporting cast around Russell Wilson as free agency continues. ESPN's Dan Graziano reports that the Broncos could trade one of Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy or KJ Hamler, though their asking price to do so is high.

12:44 p.m. — The Broncos are making one of their first big moves of the Sean Payton era, as they are preparing to sign former Ravens guard Ben Powers to a four-year deal. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports it will be worth $52 million over four years.

Powers graded as Pro Football Focus' second-best pass-blocking guard during the 2022 NFL season behind only Joe Thuney.

12:41 p.m. — Jason Kelce was contemplating retirement after Super Bowl 57, but it looks like he is going to return for another season. He took to Twitter so say that he "ain't f—ing done yet" with his NFL career. He did not say whether he would return to Philadelphia, but he has played his whole career with the Eagles.

12:38 p.m. — Well, hold on there on Campbell — the Ravens could actually bring him back if they get cap relief, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. However, that would involve moving Lamar Jackson in a trade or losing him to another team via an offer sheet.

12:37 p.m. — The Ravens have released 15-year veteran Calais Campbell, the team announced. He spent the last three seasons with the Ravens and has recorded 99 career sacks. He is expected to continue playing and will search for a place to earn his 100th sack.

12:27 p.m. — With Austin Ekeler requesting a trade, it's important to note that he has just $6.25 million left on his contract, which expires after the 2023 season. The 27-year-old has exactly 1,200 career touches during the regular season.

12:23 p.m. — As Mike Garafolo notes, the Bears may be in on several former Eagles. Why? Because Chicago's new assistant general manager, Ian Cunningham, used to be a member of Philadelphia's front office. Specifically, Garafolo believes that the Eagles could target Isaac Seumalo to join T.J. Edwards.

12:17 p.m. — One of the NFL's top linebackers is changing teams. T.J. Edwards, who was a part of Philadelphia's Super Bowl defense, is joining the Bears on a three-year deal, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It will be worth up to $18.5 million.

12:15 p.m. — Are Austin Ekeler's days as a Charger numbered? ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that he is requesting permission to talk to other teams after contract extensions between himself and Los Angeles stalled.

12:12 p.m. — Jonathan Jones is going to remain with the Patriots. New England was able to sign the versatile cornerback to a two-year deal, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jones had four interceptions last season and will keep together the Patriots' trio of Jones' — Jonathan, Marcus and Jack — at cornerback.

The deal will be worth $20 million total with $13 million in guarantees over the two seasons, per Rapoport.

Noon — The NFL's free agency tampering window is now open. We'll soon see how quickly deals can come to fruition before they can officially be signed on Wednesday.

11:57 a.m. — Here's some more chatter about the Raiders and Jimmy Garoppolo, via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It would hardly be a surprise to see Las Vegas scoop him up quickly to ensure they have a solid starter in place for the 2023 NFL season.

11:42 a.m. — The Falcons are keeping one of their best linemen with just minutes to spare before free agency. Lindstrom has developed into a quality blocker since being a first-round pick out of Boston College. He was Pro Football. Focus' top-graded guard for the 2023 NFL season. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the deal is worth $105 million over five years.

Lindstrom is now the NFL's highest-paid interior offensive lineman. His $21 million in average annual value (AAV) surpasses Quenton Nelson's record of $20 million per year.,

11:40 a.m. — The Seahawks appear ready to move on from one of the players involved in the Russell Wilson trade. Seattle will likely release Shelby Harris after attempting to trade him. Harris, 31, had 44 tackles and two sacks last season.

11:38 a.m. — Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to draw interest on the free-agent market, but his connection to the staff with the Texans and Raiders seems to be particularly strong. Those two teams will pursue Garoppolo, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, while the Jets could target him if they don't land Aaron Rodgers.

11:34 a.m. — The Saints continue to find ways to save money against the cap. This time, they are restructuring Cam Jordan's contract with the team to free up $10 million in cap space.

11:32 a.m. — The Chargers are not going to tender restricted free agent Donald Parham a contract. The 6-9 tight end totaled 40 catches for 479 yards and seven touchdowns in 33 games with Los Angeles over three seasons, but he had trouble staying healthy.

11:18 a.m. — We have a trade! The Patriots are sending tight end Jonnu Smith to the Falcons for a seventh-rounder. Smith never quite panned out in New England after being a big-time free-agent signing. He played second fiddle to Hunter Henry while with the Patriots but now will reunite with Arthur Smith, who was his offensive coordinator with the Titans.

11:08 a.m. — Aaron Rodgers hasn't tipped his hand about whether he is going to play in 2023 to date. That hasn't changed with one hour left until free agency, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

11:04 a.m. — Just how much is Jimmy Garoppolo going to make in free agency? Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reports the 49ers quarterback is seeking at least $25 million annually on the open market. He is the best quarterback remaining unsigned, so it makes sense that he would have high-end demands.

11:01 a.m. — The Bengals have signed Michael Thomas to a one-year contract extension. No, not that Michael Thomas; this one is a backup safety and special teams standout. The 32-year-old has been with the Bengals since 2021 and is entering his 10th NFL season.

10:37 a.m. — The Bills continue to do a lot of pre-free-agency work. They re-signed special teams standout and backup linebacker Tyler Matakavich to a two-year deal that will actually void after the first year. Buffalo had previously extended Matt Milano, Sam Martin and reworked the contract of Nyheim Hines in the two days before free agency.

10:34 a.m. — Jamie Gillan isn't the only punter to re-sign today. The Bills are bringing Sam Martin back on a three-year deal worth $7.5 million, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Buffalo originally picked up Martin after he was cut by the Broncos before the 2022 NFL season, and he averaged 47.7 yards per punt during the season.

10:27 a.m. — Patrick Peterson was asked about where he might like to land in free agency by ESPN's Adam Schefter. He listed the Bengals as one of his top options in addition to the Cowboys and Eagles.

9:33 a.m. — The Chargers have agreed to an extension with a quarterback, but it's not Justin Herbert. Easton Stick will remain with the team and serve as Herbert's backup. Stick was a fifth-round pick in 2019 out of North Dakota State and has completed one career pass for four yards.

9:13 a.m. — The Bills traded for Nyheim Hines ahead of the trade deadline, and they are going to keep him. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that he is reworking his contract to provide the Bills with cap relief. He could now make more than he was scheduled to in 2023 thanks to some contract incentives.

9:03 a.m. — The Browns are making an important move ahead of free agency. They have restructured Deshaun Watson's contract to free up a whopping $36 million in cap space, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. 3:48 p.m. — It looks like Odell Beckham Jr. will be signed during 2023 free agency. Beckham missed the entire 2022 season while recovering from a torn ACL suffered during Super Bowl 56. But NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Beckham performed well in a recent workout and should draw interest as free agency arrives.

1:18 p.m. — NFL Network's Ian Rapoport points out that Lamar Jackson isn't allowed to speak to teams until Wednesday. Why is that? It's because he's his own agent. Rapoport also doesn't know whether any teams will sign Jackson to an offer sheet given this two-day delay.

12:50 p.m. — Matt Milano wasn't going to be a free agent until the 2025 offseason, but the Bills wanted to make sure they would keep their top defensive star around. He signed a two-year extension with the team to open up $6 million in cap space, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

11:59 a.m. — Could Baker Mayfield join the Buccaneers? NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo report that Tampa Bay is interested in pursuing the former No. 1 pick to battle Kyle Trask for the starting job in the post-Tom Brady era.

Texans, Panthers, Raiders most likely landing spots for Jimmy Garoppolo

Date: March 8

Source: Ian Rapoport, NFL Network

Rapoport reported that the Texans, Panthers and Raiders are all likely to have an interest in signing Garoppolo as he hits free agency.

Garoppolo has a history with Raiders coach Josh McDaniels from their time together in New England. He also worked with current Texans coach DeMeco Ryans during their time together in San Francisco, while Houston general manager Nick Caserio used to work for the Patriots.

The only team without an obvious connection to Garoppolo is the Panthers. Even still, he makes sense for them considering that the team would like to add a veteran upgrade at quarterback.

Eagles may lose Javon Hargrave, CJ Gardner-Johnson in free agency

Date: March 8

Source: Adam Schefter, ESPN

Schefter joined 97.5 The Fanatic to discuss some of the Eagles' upcoming free agents. He seemed to think that Hargrave would get $20 million per season while Gardner-Johnson would get $13 million per year on the open market and indicated that Philadelphia will have trouble signing them as a result.

Date: March 8

Source: Mike Garafolo, NFL Network

According to Garafolo, the Packers are just looking for "fair compensation" in any deal involving Rodgers. Green Bay's main goal is to give Jordan Love a chance to start, and that's why the team is looking to move Rodgers.

Reports: Five teams won't pursue Lamar Jackson after franchise tag

Date: March 7

Source: Multiple reports
