The Bills took down a familiar foe in their Week 2 matchup with the Dolphins on "Thursday Night Football."
Star quarterback Josh Allen probably had this matchup circled for months, going against his favorite opponent in primetime.
Allen has owned the Dolphins over his seven-year NFL career. It doesn't matter if it's the regular season or playoffs — or in Buffalo or Miami. Allen is guaranteed to run up the numbers against his AFC East rival.
Just how good has Allen been against the Dolphins? The Sporting News takes a closer look at his stats below.

Josh Allen record vs. Dolphins
Allen owns an 11-2 record against the Dolphins in the regular season. That's the most wins he has against any NFL franchise.
Granted, Allen has also played Miami more than any other team, but his record against the Dolphins is far superior to that of other AFC East opponents like the Jets (7-4) and Patriots (6-5).
Allen is also 1-0 against Miami in the playoffs, winning a 34-31 nail-biter in the 2023 AFC wild-card game in Buffalo.

Josh Allen stats vs. Dolphins
Allen's stats against the Dolphins go hand-in-hand with his dominant record.
Allen's totals of 3,502 passing yards, 34 passing touchdowns, and 685 rushing yards against the Dolphins are career highs against any NFL team.
He has also had some of his biggest individual games against Miami, notching single-game career-highs in passing touchdowns, rushing touchdowns, rushing yards, completions, completion percentage, and passer rating.

Allen has thrown for four touchdowns with zero interceptions against the Dolphins three times.
In their Week 4 matchup last season, Allen achieved that feat while registering the highest passer rating of his career (158.3), completing 21 of 25 attempts (84.0%) for 320 yards in a 48-20 blowout win.
Again, the volume of games plays a role, but there is no denying that Allen brings an extra edge every time he goes up against Miami. He has won five consecutive games against the Dolphins, throwing for over 300 yards and at least two touchdowns in four of those meetings.
Even if his 2024 Week 2 performance was quiet for his standards — finishing with just 139 passing yards, two rushing yards and one passing touchdown — Buffalo still handled Miami, 31-10.
The two AFC East teams will clash again in Week 9 on Sunday, Nov. 3.
