The Jets finally got what they've wanted all offseason.
Although an Aaron Rodgers trade between the Packers and Jets has long felt like a "when," not "if," situation, it seemed as the NFL Draft got closer that the Jets would have to make some tough choices this weekend without the most important position being set.
That eventuality was avoided Monday when Rodgers was sent to the Jets for a first-round pick swap and a bevy of other picks. The Jets moved down two spots while also giving up second- and sixth-round picks this year and a conditional 2024 second-rounder; the Packers moved up to No. 13 and gave up a fifth-rounder in 2023.
The result is a Jets offense that will receive an enormous amount of offseason hype before it has to prove itself in September. The unit boasts 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson; running back, an early front-runner for Rookie of the Year before he was hurt; and a familiar face to welcome Rodgers in wide receiver Allen Lazard.

The Jets are banking on Rodgers being the linchpin for an offense that never got rolling last year, thanks in large part to issues at QB. Here's a full look at how New York's offensive depth charts now look.
Jets WR depth chart
The receiving room is being led by second-year star Garrett Wilson, who looks like he has what it takes to be a No. 1 receiver. The additions Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman bring experience. Elijah Moore went to the Browns in the offseason.
Rank | Player | Year |
1 | Garrett Wilson | 2 |
2 | Corey Davis | 7 |
3 | Allen Lazard | 6 |
4 | Mecole Hardman | 5 |
5 | Denzel Mims | 4 |
Wilson hauled in 83 passes for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie. After him, the Jets have three veterans, two of whom have a lot to prove. Davis has underachieved in his first two years with the Jets, while Hardman will go from Patrick Mahomes to Rodgers throwing him the ball.
Mims is entering his fourth NFL season looking to give the Jets a reason to re-sign him after he was drafted by the them in the second round in 2020.

Jets RB depth chart
The Jets are looking to get the productive Hall back. He was outstanding to begin last season before tearing his ACL in Week 7. Hall had 80 carries for 463 yards (5.8 yards per carry) and four touchdowns.
Rank | Player | Year |
1 | Breece Hall | 2 |
2 | Zonovan Knight | 2 |
3 | Michael Carter | 3 |
4 | Ty Johnson | 5 |
While the Jets have experience at receiver, they lack it at running back with second-year players Hall and Knight and third-year pro Carter. Robert Saleh and Mike LaFleur got a lot out of the team's running backs. It will fall on new offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to do the same.
Jets TE depth chart
The Jets have a strong incumbent in Tyler Conklin, while C.J. Uzomah returns for a second year with the Jets after a good first season. Rodgers has had success with tight ends in the past, something Marcedes Lewis can attest to. He should have a good working relationship with Conklin as well.
Rank | Player | Year |
1 | Tyler Conklin | 6 |
2 | C.J. Uzomah | 9 |
3 | Kenny Yeboah | 3 |
4 | Jeremy Ruckert | 2 |

Jets OL depth chart
The line is the X-factor. If the unit doesn't work, then the QB won't, either. Here's a look at who will be protecting Rodgers.
Position | Player | Year |
LT | Mekhi Becton | 4 |
LG | Laken Tomlinson | 9 |
C | Connor McGovern | 7 |
RG | Alijah Vera-Tucker | 3 |
RT | Max Mitchell | 2 |
The line has an interesting makeup. It features interior experience and bookends they've tried to cultivate. Becton missed all of last season and started just one game in 2021 because of injuries. He'll be looking to take back the position from veteran Duane Brown, who re-signed in the offseason.
It's hard to imagine that general manager Joe Douglas is done building his offense around Rodgers. But Rodgers is easily the biggest domino to fall after teetering for a long time.
