Saturday's wild-card matchup between the Chiefs and Dolphins is certain to attract viewership. Such is the case when some of the league's most recognizable names and faces, including Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce (and, by proxy, Taylor Swift), take part in the festivities.
The feeling of deja vu won't be limited to those watching those titans strut onto the gridiron. It will also capture the hearts of those who haven't seen Jason Garrett in the broadcast booth in some time.
Garrett, the former coach-turned-pundit, will operate alongside longtime "Sunday Night Football" announcer Mike Tirico on Peacock after NBC's flagship streaming platform secured rights for one exclusive broadcast in the postseason.
His impending appearance on air represents yet another push in the right direction for Garrett, whose coaching career fell apart quite quickly but whose career in the media very well could just be getting started.

Garrett is a rising star at NBC Sports. The next step for him is announcing this week's wild-card contest between the Chiefs and the Dolphins.
Garrett is by no means a broadcasting novice. He's sat in the chair as the lead analyst plenty of times before, offering his musings from the booth for NBC's USFL coverage, select Notre Dame games, and even the occasional NFL game during Thanksgiving weekend.
His latest appearance on NBC — or rather, its streaming platform, Peacock — has to do with the fact that Saturday night's game is being offered exclusively on Peacock as opposed to the main NBC channel, which will also broadcast the first playoff game of the day, Browns vs. Texans (4 p.m. ET) and last game on Sunday night, Rams-Lions (8:15 p.m. ET).
Noah Eagle, Todd Blackledge, and Kathryn Tappen will lead NBC's coverage during the Browns-Texans game before Tirico, Garrett, and Kaylee Hartung take over for the Dolphins-Chiefs game on Peacock. Tirico will jet over to Detroit with the usual Sunday Night Football crew of Cris Collinsworth and Melissa Stark for Sunday night's Rams-Lions matchup.
When NBC has broadcast two games in four days during Thanksgiving weekend the past two seasons, Collinsworth has only offered commentary for one, so NBC is simply following that formula with an even quicker turnaround for two prime-time playoff games.

Saturday night's Peacock game will feature a makeshift team, but it's one NBC Universal is putting full faith in as the streaming platform looks to make some decent returns on the $110 million investment that secured it the rights to exclusively air Saturday night's game earlier in the season.
