How tall is Cam Newton? Former MVP towers over Caleb Williams, more 2024 NFL Draft prospects during interviews image

Caleb Williams and Cam Newton have a lot in common. Both are Heisman Trophy winners, No. 1 picks in the NFL (once Williams to the Bears is official) and bring eccentric personalities and styles both on and off the field.

However, what the two don't have in common is height, and that much was made evident during the pre-draft process Thursday night.

Ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, Newton was on the mic for NFL Network interviewing prospects as they crossed the red carpet. The biggest name at this year's selection show is Williams, so of course the USC QB had to get some time in front of the camera before hearing his name called.

While Williams discussed his choice of outfit, it wasn't the clothing that had people talking, but rather the size disparity between Newton and the Trojans star.

With the two standing side-by-side, it got people asking just how tall Newton is, and how does he compare to Williams' dimensions?

Cam Newton height, weight

Newton is listed at 6-5, 246 pounds, making him one of the taller quarterbacks to ever grace the gridiron.

The former Panthers star does not have the prototypical quarterback body. He is tall, built and athletic, which is what helped him be a force both in the passing game and in the run game.

If Newton were to play in today's NFL, he would be among the tallest players at the position, joining Josh Allen (6-5), Daniel Jones (6-5), Trevor Lawrence (6-6) and Justin Herbert (6-6) in that category.

Caleb Williams height, weight

Williams is listed at 6-1, 216 pounds. So the USC QB is about four inches shorter and 30 pounds lighter than Newton.

It may be unfair to dub Williams as a short quarterback when comparing him to Newton, but he will be on the shorter side of the position once he enters the NFL. Last year, Bryce Young and Kyler Murray were tied for the shortest quarterbacks in the NFL. Both are listed at 5-10, three inches shorter than Williams.

Cam Newton stats

Newton immediately entered the NFL as the starting QB for the Panthers and was a dominant force for a number of years.

The dual-threat QB gave defenses headaches by using his arm and his legs to lead Carolina's offense. In his rookie season in 2011, he was selected to the Pro Bowl after throwing for 4,051 yards and 21 touchdowns and running for 706 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Newton continued to carve out strong seasons, but his 2015 campaign is the one to remember. He won MVP that season after throwing for 3,837 yards and 35 touchdowns, while managing just 10 interceptions. He also added 636 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns with his legs. That year, the Panthers earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC and made it all the way to Super Bowl 50, where the team lost to Peyton Manning and the Broncos.

The Carolina QB remained a strong option at the position for three more seasons before injuries cut his 2019 season short. He and the Panthers agreed to part ways, and Newton signed to take over QB in New England for the 2020 season after the departure of Tom Brady.

However, his age and injuries had caught up to him, and he was out of the league by 2021.

Below is a look at Newtons' passing stats in his time in the NFL.
