The 49ers are looking to clinch the NFC West in Week 15, the earliest they've won the division since 2010. They are turning the clock back even further with their uniforms on "Thursday Night Football" in Seattle; they're donning all-white 1994 throwbacks.
The 49ers last won the Super Bowl in the 1994 season, defeating the Chargers 49-26 to cap off the dynasty's run. They've made the Super Bowl twice since, but they fell just short in the 2012 and 2019 seasons. They're looking to recapture some of the magic this season.

There isn't much reason to think they can't. The 49ers are 9-4 despite being on their third quarterback, Mr. Irrelevant 2022 Brock Purdy. Their roster has dominated for long stretches, and they can punch their ticket to the playoffs Thursday.

Why do the 49ers wear all-white uniforms?
The 49ers wore their all-white uniforms when they clinched the division in Seattle in 2019, so they can repeat history at Lumen Field on Thursday.

The look is based on their 1955 jerseys, and the 49ers have dusted off the throwbacks at various times in their history, including when they won Super Bowl 29 in 1995. Although they won the game in their red tops, they wore their all-white jerseys en route to that victory.
They were 2-0 in 2019 when wearing these threads, and they made the Super Bowl that season as well. Undoubtedly, the team is trying channel that history (and they also happen to look really nice).
It's also Purdy's second career start. Why not dress him up as Steve Young and see what happens?
