The defending champions get it done on the road.

The Warriors struggled away from home all season but superstar guard Stephen Curry wasn't going to let his team's season end. The reigning Finals MVP became the first player in NBA history to score 50 points in a Game 7, knocking down seven 3-pointers to go with eight rebounds and six assists in a performance for the record books.

Golden State center Kevon Looney also had his fingerprints all over the victory, dominating the glass with a double-double of 11 points and 21 rebounds to give the Warriors the edge.

Next, Golden State will continue its title defense against a familiar foe in the West Semifinals — LeBron James and the Lakers.

Warriors vs. Kings score, highlights from Game 7

Final Warriors 120, Kings 100

6:13 p.m.: The Warriors get it done on the road! Golden State keeps its title defense alive behind a Game 7 record-breaking 50 points from Stephen Curry and an 11-point, 21-rebound double-double from Kevon Looney.

The Kings got 22 points from Domantas Sabonis and 16 points from De'Aaron Fox, but no one could keep up with Curry's historic outburst.

6:08 p.m.: And there it is. Stephen Curry has the first 50-point Game 7 in NBA history. He checks out of the game with the Warriors leading 115-94 with under three minutes to play.

5:57 p.m.: Wardell Stephen Curry. The reigning Finals MVP has gone nuclear. He's up to 45 points on the night and Kevin Durant's Game 7 scoring record (48 points) is officially in danger.

5:51 p.m.: Stephen Curry has his foot on the Kings' neck. The superstar guard is attacking every possession, up to 38 points, seven rebounds and six assists on the night. The Warriors lead the Kings 95-81 with 8:35 to play in the fourth.

End of third quarter: Warriors 91, Kings 81

5:41 p.m.: What an electrifying end to the third quarter. Malik Monk had a big and-one off of a putback to breathe some life back into the Kings, but Klay Thompson responded with an and-one 3-pointer to silence the crowd.

Stephen Curry is playing like he is trying to keep the Warriors' dynasty alive, dropping 34 points through three quarters. The Warriors lead the Kings 91-81 heading into the fourth quarter.

5:27 p.m.: Kevon Looney has taken over this game with his work on the glass. The Warriors big man is up to 18 rebounds on the night and he has the same number of offensive boards (8) as the entire Kings team.

Golden State has grabbed 13 offensive rebounds in the third quarter alone. The Warriors lead the Kings 73-66 with 4:22 to play in the frame.

5:19 p.m.: De'Aaron Fox has picked up his fourth foul of the game and will head to the bench — a massive blow for the Kings.

5:14 p.m.: The Warriors are out-hustling the Kings to start the second half, leading 69-62 with 7:50 to play in the quarter.

A possession with three Golden State offensive rebounds ended in a circus layup for Stephen Curry, who is up to 28 points on the night. Klay Thompson is finally starting to get going, knocking down a pair of jumpers to snap a cold streak.

Halftime: Kings 58, Warriors 56

4:49 p.m.: The Kings weathered a big first half from Stephen Curry to go into the break with the lead. Curry is up to 20 points on the night, knocking down four 3-pointers. Domantas Sabonis leads the way with 16 points for Sacramento, but 25 points from its bench has been the difference so far in Game 7.

Both team's co-stars have been relatively quiet. De'Aaron Fox only has eight points, but he did dish out five assists. Klay Thompson only has seven points on 1-for-10 shooting from the field.

4:37 p.m.: The Warriors have tied things up at 51-51 with 3:21 to play in the half. Golden State is sharing the wealth on offense, dishing out 12 assists on 18 made baskets. Kevon Looney is battling for the Warriors with eight rebounds and four assists.

Stephen Curry is leading the charge with 17 points and three 3-pointers so far in the first half. His third triple of the game helped him surpass Ray Allen (22) for the most career Game 7 3-pointers in NBA history.

4:23 p.m.: We have a battle on our hands. The Kings leading the Warriors 39-37 with 9:02 to play in the half. Sacramento's ball movement leading to this tough triple from Malik Monk will give you an idea of how unselfish the Kings are playing so far.

4:19 p.m.: Warriors wing Gary Payton II already has three fouls in the contest, forcing him to the bench. Payton has spent significant time guarding both De'Aaron Fox and Malik Monk in this series.

End of first quarter: Kings 31, Warriors 30

4:11 p.m.: The Kings lead the Warriors by one point after one frame. Stephen Curry is already starting to heat up with 10 points and two 3-pointers but the contributions from Sacramento's role players made the difference in the first quarter.

Domantas Sabonis led the way with seven points and De'Aaron Fox added five points late in the period, but it was Terence Davis' two 3-pointers that helped put the Kings in front.

4:03 p.m.: It has been a quiet start for star guard De'Aaron Fox, who has zero points on 0-for-3 shooting from the field so far. The Warriors lead the Kings 18-15 with 4:02 left in the first quarter.

3:56 p.m.: The Warriors strike first, taking an early 18-12 lead with 5:53 to play in the first quarter. 3-point shooting has gotten Golden State off and running, with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins all knocking down one long-range attempt.

The Golden 1 Center is rocking already.
