From the moment the Spurs won the NBA Draft lottery, everyone from San Antonio to Paris knew that Victor Wembanyama would be the pick.

Despite a lack of suspense, there was no shortage of electricity and excitement from Spurs fans.

NBA Twitter was ablaze after the 7-foot-5 French phenom went No. 1. Here's a roundup of some of the best reactions including shoutouts from Spurs Hall of Famers and a three-time Defensive Player of the Year from France.

Here's the best of the world's reaction:

Spurs great Manu Ginobili was excited after the pick.

Fellow Frenchman Rudy Gobert was over joyed for Wembanyama saying; "so proud of you @vicw_32. A new adventure begins!"

Despite the occasion Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich was his usual hilarious and dry self.

Former Heat, Warrior, 76er and Blazer Dorell Wright was all about the over the top celebrations in San Antonio.

It's incredible to see the physical transformation that Victor Wembanyama has undergone.

Earlier in the week Wembanyama joined JJ Redick on 'The Old Man and the Three' podcast.

Moments after being drafted Wemby was welcomed to Spurs by teammate Jeremy Sochan.

Not everyone was hyped about the pick. The NFL's Rich Eisen was unhappy about the lengthy telecast.
