Arnold Allen is undefeated in the UFC and is ranked sixth in the featherweight rankings. At 28, he may be on the cusp of fighting for gold. “Almighty” puts his streak and opportunity on the line against the tough Calvin Kattar on October 29.
The fight, dubbed UFC Vegas 63, takes place inside the UFC’s APEX Center.
Allen, who has six wins via knockout, beat Dan Hooker via TKO in March. He liked the idea of fighting Kattar at the time. He didn't talk trash or cause drama leading up to fight week. That isn't him. He is ready to prove critics wrong and show why he belongs.
“If everyone is saying I’m the dark horse, then I can’t be the dark horse. I think it’s just me,” Allen told UFC.com. “I don't really talk a lot. I don't really shout at people or say anything bad. I just kind of think this is one of the fights where we’ll let the fight do the talking. I don’t think (Kattar) said anything mean. We’re not those kinds of guys. We’re just going to fight and earn our spot.”
The next opponent for Allen could have been Josh Emmett, who beat Kattar in June via a controversial split decision scoring. Kattar and Allen are next to one another in the standings.

Kattar, who has been in wars with Max Holloway and Giga Chikadze, is 2-2 in his last four fights. He realizes he needs to make a statement in this fight. Kattar isn’t looking past Allen but isn’t worried about the number of wins on his record.
“I can't leave it to the judges, and I’ve got to go do more to get my hand raised. We're going to do that this time around… I really don't focus on much other than the fact that he's undefeated,” Kattar told UFC.com “He's done what he had to do to earn this opportunity. Clearly, he's doing something right.
