The Bellator Champions Series, the PFL's new name for Bellator events, continues with gold on the line at its latest event, and top signings competing for bragging rights. Patchy Mix defends the Bellator bantamweight title against Magomed Magomedov in the main event.
Usman Nurmagomedov was supposed to defend the Bellator lightweight title against Alexandr Shabliy but the former had to back out after getting injured before fight night.

Mix is a former KOTC bantamweight champion who joined Bellator in 2019. He is 9-1 in Bellator-sanctioned fights, running through the competition during the Bellator Bantamweight Grand Prix to win the interim bantamweight title. That includes a win against Magomedov in a semi-final fight. The 30-year-old beat Sergio Pettis in November 2023 to unify the division.
Magomedov joined Bellator in 2020 and is 4-2 with the promotion. After losing against Mix, the man from Dagestan recovered by submitting Danny Sabatello in July.
"In the first fight, he surprised me. He used his distance to his benefit. This time, I’m approaching the fight differently, and people should expect a war. It’s been a year and a half since we’ve seen each other and I hope we both grew as fighters,” Magomedov said via Sherdog. "My tank is full. We can do five rounds, 10 rounds, you name it. We have unfinished business, and this time, I'm going to be the one coming forward."
