The 2022 World Series will feature one team all too familiar with MLB's grandest stage and another making a triumphant return after more than a decade away from the Fall Classic.
The Houston Astros are in the World Series for the fourth time in six seasons and the second year in a row. The 2017 champions come in hot, having won seven in a row with sweeps of the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners.
Their opponents, the Philadelphia Phillies, have been on a similar roll from quite a different situation. While the Astros had the best record in the American League this year, the Phillies were the last of six National League teams to qualify for the playoffs. Led by superstar Bryce Harper, though, they have taken down the defending champion Atlanta Braves and the San Diego Padres to reach their first World Series since back-to-back trips in 2008 and 2009.

World Series schedule 2022
Because the Astros (106-56) finished with a better record than the Phillies (87-75), Houston has home-field advantage for the World Series. That means the first two games and the last two games (if necessary) of the best-of-seven series will be at Minute Maid Park in Houston, while the middle three games (Game 5 if necessary) will be at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
Every World Series game will start at 20:30 ET. With clocks set to fall back from British Summer Time to Greenwich Mean Time on 30 October, the first two games will begin at 1:03 am in the UK and the remaining games will begin at 12:03 am.
