The Rangers handed out $500 million in contracts to Corey Seager and Marcus Semien alone in 2021, and the returns have been strong through two seasons. Seager and Semien proved pivotal in getting Texas back to the postseason. In October, however, no hitter has meant more to Bruce Bochy's squad than Adolis Garcia.
Garcia emerged as one of the faces of a dismal Rangers team in 2021, becoming a feared power hitter in a lineup that was otherwise just an afterthought. By the time Texas pursued Seager and Semien, the idea was that the free-agent standouts could protect Garcia in the lineup and form a feared trio. Mission accomplished.
Seager and Semien are on another level, however, in terms of their salary. Garcia is a bargain for the Rangers, considering his record-setting display in the postseason.

Here's a closer look at Garcia's contract and career earnings as he chases a championship in Texas.
Adolis Garcia contract details
Despite being 30 years old, Garcia is still on his rookie contract with the Rangers.
He didn't defect from Cuba until he was 23 and needed time to develop in the minor leagues before reaching the majors, so Garcia's status as a late-bloomer has delayed his free agency until later than most players.
Garcia has made well under $1 million in each of his first three seasons in the majors with Texas, and he's set to be arbitration-eligible for the first time this offseason. That means Garcia will have a say in his salary for the first time, though a player in year one of arbitration eligibility is stuck with a lower scale than players in years two and three of eligibility.
For now, Garcia is making dramatically less than many of his teammates despite being the star of the show in October.
Adolis Garcia salary 2023
Garcia's salary was just $747,760 in 2023. That's a fraction of what some of his teammates are making. Max Scherzer is earning an average of $43 million annually, while Seager's deal earns him $32.5 million per year and Semien makes $25 million per year.

Adolis Garcia career earnings
Garcia's career earnings are just more than $5.2 million, according to Spotrac.
Nearly half of Garcia's career earnings come from the $2.5 million signing bonus he received from the Cardinals less than a year after defecting from Cuba. Since then, it's been a slow climb toward arbitration eligibility for the slugger.
Garcia finally finds himself on the verge of a raise after the 2023 season, but he still won't be eligible for free agency until the end of his age-33 season.
