Golf royalty is set to do battle with one another, all for a good cause.
The Match, a popular US golf showcase which pits famed golfers and athletes against one another, returns for its seventh iteration on Saturday. And this version of the competition will feature some real heavyweights.
In one corner, you have PGA Tour superstars Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. The pair have combined for 19 major wins and are perhaps the two most popular golfers in the world. To see the two competitors-turned-pals team up with one another should be an enticing draw.
They'll be pitted against fellow Tour stars Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth. Neither golfer has hit the age of 30 yet. But the duo has nabbed its fair share of hardware in their short careers — Thomas and Spieth have five majors between them, including Thomas' 2022 US PGA Championship win.
It's a battle of old guard vs new, with all the proceeds going to charity. You can't ask for much more than that.
