Wolves fans were probably more relieved than most to see the end of the 2021/22 Premier League season, which their team concluded with a seven-game winless run, including five defeats.

Manager Bruno Lage was clearly dissatisfied with his players after a slump that put paid to any ambitions they had of returning to Europe for the first time since their UEFA Europa League adventure of 2019/20.

There were positive signs, though: Wolves' 15 wins included victories over the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and West Ham, and a 10th-placed finish was a respectable return on the club's resources.

Ahead of their fifth successive season in the Premier League, here's how Wolves' schedule will look.

Wolves in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup

Defeat at home to Norwich last season — one of the Premier League sides who would be relegated — was a poor return for Wolves in the fourth round of the FA Cup, which they will return to in January.

Tottenham won on penalties at Molineux in the third round of the Carabao Cup in 2021/22. That competition starts for Wolves in November.

Wolves Premier League betting odds

Wolves' odds reflect their status as one of the Premier League sides with as much potential to be in the top half of the table as they do to slide towards the relegation battle.

Lage has plenty of quality at his disposal through the likes of England defender Conor Coady, Portugal midfielder Ruben Neves and targetman Raul Jimenez, whose ability to be more prolific could define his side's season. Another tilt at European qualification would signify a successful season for Wolves.

Wolves best & worst Premier League finish

The inimitable Nuno Espirito Santo guided a stylish Wolves side to two seventh-placed finishes in the Premier League after overseeing promotion as Championship winners in 2017/18.

Those remain Wolves' best finishes in the Premier League, with a 13th-placed position in 2020/21 preceding Santo's departure and subsequent ill-fated move to Tottenham.

Wolves first joined the modern Premier League in 2003/04, suffering instant relegation by finishing bottom. They were promoted again for the 2009/10 season, surviving for two seasons before ending in 20th place again.
