Roma ended their long wait for European silverware when they beat Dutch club Feyenoord in the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League final.
The 2022 final took place at the Arena Kombetare in Tirana, Albania, and all Jose Mourinho's side needed was a lone goal by Nicolo Zaniolo to come away with a 1-0 win.
The victory was the culmination of Mourinho's work in his first season with the Roman club, which he also guided to a sixth-place finish in Serie A.
They will next look to leave their mark in the 2022-23 Europa League, a trophy which Mourinho has won before with Manchester United and Porto back when it was still called the UEFA Cup.
When did Roma last win a trophy?
Before the 2022 Europa Conference League triumph, Roma's previous trophy capture came in the 2007-08 season, when they won the Coppa Italia. They have won two European trophies in their history — the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1960-61, and the Anglo-Italian Cup in 1972.
When did Jose Mourinho last win a trophy?
Mourinho is known for having won a laundry list of trophies throughout his managerial career.
However, he didn't win a trophy during his time in charge of his last club, Tottenham Hotspur after he was sacked just days before the 2021 Carabao Cup final, which the north London side lost to Manchester City.
Before that, Mourinho had last won a trophy when he was in charge of Manchester United. The Red Devils claimed the Europa League in 2017, beating Ajax 2-0 in the final courtesy of goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Mkhitaryan was also part of Mourinho's Conference League-winning squad at Roma, though he had to come off injured in the final against another Dutch side, Feyenoord.
