The 2024 Copa America final is set for Sunday, July 14, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, where Argentina will face Colombia in a highly anticipated showdown.

The reigning champions, led by Lionel Messi, secured their spot in the final with a 2-0 win over Canada. Messi scored his first goal of the tournament in this match, following an opener from Julian Alvarez.

The team has faced little resistance in their journey to the final, with their only real challenge coming in the quarterfinals when they had to come through a penalty shootout with Ecuador.

Colombia, on the other hand, reached the final by defeating Uruguay 1-0 despite playing with 10 men for the entire second half. They are unbeaten in their past 28 international matches, the longest streak in their history. This will be their first Copa America final in 23 years.

As both teams prepare for this exciting clash, fans can expect a thrilling and competitive match as Colombia aim to extend their streak and Argentina look to cement their place as the best national team in the world.

Argentina vs. Colombia projected lineups & team news

Lionel Messi, who played the full 90 minutes despite a leg injury in Argentina's win over Canada, is expected to start again in the final.

Julian Alvarez, who scored in the semifinal, will likely retain his place in the lineup over Lautaro Martinez. Argentina's defence remains solid with Lisandro Martinez and Cristian Romero at center-back. There are question marks over whether Nahuel Molina will start over Gonzalo Montiel at right-back given the latter has been managing an ankle problem.

In midfield, Nico Gonzalez and Giovani Lo Celso are vying for a spot ahead of Alexis Mac Allister, who has been playing on the left in a 4-4-2 formation.

Argentina predicted lineup (4-4-2, right to left): E. Martinez — Molina, Romero, Li. Martinez, Tagliafico — De Paul, Fernandez, Mac Allister, Gonzalez — Alvarez, Messi.

For Colombia, Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz will miss the final due to a red card in the semifinal against Uruguay.

CONMEBOL has not confirmed any additional player bans following ugly scenes after the game in North Carolina, so Nestor Lorenzo is set to stick with a largely unchanged team.

Santiago Arias is expected to fill in at right-back. James Rodriguez will captain the team, with Jhon Cordoba and Liverpool's Luis Diaz leading the attack.

Colombia predicted lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Vargas — S. Arias, Sanchez, Cuesta, Mojica — Rios, Lerma — J. Arias, James, Diaz — Cordoba.
