Brazil will aim to get their World Cup qualifying campaign back on track when they travel to face Uruguay.

Fernando Diniz's side were heavy favourites to make it three wins out of three against Venezuela last Friday, especially when Gabriel headed them into an early second-half lead in Cuiaba.

But Eduard Bello produced a superb, improvised overhead kick, allowing Argentina to edge two points clear of their great rivals at the top of the standings.

Uruguay are also looking to return to winning ways after sharing an action-packed 2-2 draw in Colombia, where Darwin Nunez's stoppage-time penalty secured a share of the spoils.

Uruguay vs. Brazil lineups, team news

Cristian Olivera and Mathias Olivera each impressed from the bench as Uruguay twice battled back from behind in Barranquilla. Marcelo Bielsa will give consideration to starting both.

Uruguay projected lineup (4-3-2-1, right to left): Mele (GK) — Nandez, R Araujo, Caceres, M Olivera — Ugarte, Valverde — C Olivera, De la Cruz, Rodriguez – Nunez

Casemiro is Brazil's major doubt heading into this game. The Manchester United midfielder suffered a blow to the ankle against Venezuela and Flamengo midfielder Gerson is favourite to come in alongside Bruno Guimaraes in the engine room.

Danilo has left camp after sustaining a muscular injury last week, meaning a probable start for Yan Couto at right-back.

Brazil lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Ederson (GK) — Couto, Marquinhos, Gabriel, Arana — Guimaraes, Gerson — Rodrygo, Neymar, Vinicius — Richarlison

Uruguay vs. Brazil prediction, odds

Bielsa has quickly got Uruguay playing in his image and they are yet to keep a clean sheet across three qualifiers that have yielded 11 goals.

Buoyed by a passionate home crowd at Estadio Centenario and their comeback in Colombia, expect the hosts to start fast and maybe even hit the front. However, against Brazil's lethal front four this ambition will eventually prove to be their undoing, with the Selecao's forwards set to enjoy the sort of room to express themselves they seldom get as the contest wears on.

Prediction: Uruguay 2-4 Brazil
