Spain vs Scotland prediction, odds, betting tips and best bets for Euro 2024 qualifying match image

Scotland head to Sevilla to face Spain in UEFA European Championship qualifying knowing that another victory would send them to Euro 2024 next summer in Germany.

With five wins from five in their qualification cycle so far, Steve Clarke's side sit on the verge of making history and will fancy their chances again here after defeating Spain 2-0 at home back in March. Indeed, the result of this game will be academic if Norway fail to beat Cyprus as that would mean Scotland will definitely finish in the group's top two.

Since then, the hosts have thrived and have won three out of four matches. The other saw them defeat Croatia on penalties to claim the 2023 UEFA Nations League title after a 0-0 draw.

Their previous two qualifying matches have seen them get on the scoresheet 13 times as Spain begin to gel as a unit once again following their shock penalty-shootout loss to Morocco at the 2022 World Cup Round of 16 stage last year.

    Spain vs Scotland best bet

    • Pick: Both teams to score
    • Odds: 11/10 (10Bet)

Given that Spain have netted 13 times across their prior two qualifying matches and that Scotland have won five games out of five in this cycle, it's difficult to see why the odds for both teams to score are so high here at 11/10. As a result, it seems like a bit of a no-brainer to back this.

Granted, the return fixture between these sides saw Scotland run out fairly comfortable 2-0 winners, but since, Spain have netted 15 times in four matches whilst also winning the UEFA Nations League final, which will have boosted confidence in the squad.

Scotland, too, remain a threat going forward, especially as another win here would guarantee them a spot at Euro 2024, although a draw would also be enough depending on the Norway result. Across their qualifying campaign, the away side have netted 12 times in five outings overall, with midfielder Scott McTominay remaining their biggest goal threat. He also netted twice in his last Manchester United outing at the weekend.

    Spain vs Scotland flier bet

    • Pick: Alvaro Morata to score first
    • Odds: 3/1 (bet365)

Usually labelled as a bit of a wasteful striker, Alvaro Morata has been on fire this season for club side Atletico Madrid.

The experienced forward, who has played for some of Europe's biggest sides, has netted seven times in nine appearances for the La Liga outfit — just under half the amount he scored all season long in 2022/23.

As such, we're expecting him to bring that form with him here as Spain face off with Scotland in Sevilla. He'll likely start and captain his side in this fixture and with his return of 33 goals in 66 international caps, he could be a great pick to score the opener.
