Two teams who have each been beyond the round of 16 at the finals on only one previous occasion apiece meet in search of their first wins of the tournament, as South Korea play Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

South Korea, who finished fourth at the 2002 finals, began with a useful 0-0 draw against strong opponents in Uruguay but are still seeking their first shot on target in Group H, with captain Heung-min Son their key threat in front of goal.

The 2010 quarter-finalists Ghana impressed in a thriller against Portugal, pushing the more experienced team all the way in a 3-2 defeat that demonstrated their potential and ability to entertain.

South Korea vs Ghana odds

The bookmakers slightly favour South Korea to earn their first win of the tournament, pricing a draw or victory for Ghana at equal and longer odds.

These sides have each won four games across the nine times this fixture has taken place in the past – but this is the first time they have met in a World Cup game.
