Two of international football's fiercest rivals meet at Hampden Park on Tuesday as Scotland host England for the 150th Anniversary Heritage match.

Dating all the way back to the first international football game in 1872, these two nations have played a number of memorable clashes along the way, most recently meeting during the group stage of the Euro 2020 finals.

This time around, it's the 150th Anniversary Heritage friendly, but that won't mean these teams won't care about the result in front of a packed out Hampden Park.

Indeed, with Scotland enjoying superb form in Euro 2024 qualifying and England underwhelming in a 1-1 draw with Ukraine last time out, there is plenty to play for in terms of bragging rights as the best international side among UK nations right now.

Steve Clarke and Gareth Southgate will know that only a win will do in terms of pleasing each set of fans and, in the case of the latter, in keeping some of his critics at bay. But form indicates this could be a day for Scotland to celebrate — and midfielder Scott McTominay might just be heavily involved.

Scotland odds to win vs England

BetOnSports: 10/3

Scotland face England in their best form in decades. Steve Clarke's side are unbeaten across their prior 11 qualifying outings, the longest such run by any European nation at present. They are top of their group and look to be firmly on course to qualify for next year's European Championship in Germany.

Their chances were boosted further by a 3-0 victory over Cyprus away from home on Friday. That result extended their winning streak to five consecutive outings across all competitions, whilst they've managed to score at least twice in each game, a feat they last achieved all the way back in November 1949.

Scott McTominay odds to score vs England

BetOnSports: 13/2

After scoring again during Scotland's win over Cyprus on Friday, midfielder Scott McTominay remains in fantastic form for his national side.

That latest strike made it six in Euro 2024 qualifying — the joint-most of any player alongside Manchester United teammate Rasmus Hojlund for Denmark.

Interestingly, those six goals for McTominay have come across his past five internationals, whilst prior to that streak, he'd netted just once for Scotland in 36 international appearances.

If you want to combine the two and bet on Scotland to win this match and for McTominay to score, you can find that at 16/1
