Two clubs seeking a bounce-back result meet in the Supercopa de Espana (Spanish Super Cup) semifinals in Saudi Arabia hoping to bolster their chances of securing silverware and return to form ahead of a return to La Liga play.

Real Madrid fell three points behind leaders Barcelona after defeat to Villarreal in the Spanish top flight over the weekend, well beaten by fellow European contenders who put up over 3.0 expected goals in the match. That, coupled with Barcelona's win over Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital, saw Los Blancos handed a deficit in the title race.

Valencia, meanwhile, have been defeated in both league matches since returning from the World Cup break, falling to Villarreal as well before defeat to Cadiz last time out. The attack has especially sputtered, as they held 74 percent possession against Cadiz at home but generated just two shots on target in the entire match.

Valencia have beaten Real Madrid twice since 2019, but both victories came at home in league play, while they fell in their last Super Cup meeting against them back in January 2020.

Real Madrid vs Valencia betting odds

With both teams in poor form of late, Real Madrid are heavily favored in this match as the default for being the bigger club and stronger side on paper.

In fact, Madrid are such heavy favorites that the spread has shifted to 1.5, meaning Madrid are expected to win by multiple goals. This, despite the fact that one of Madrid's critical midfield components (Aurelien Tchouameni) won't be available for the match.
