Robert Lewandowski and Co. face a much-needed World Cup primer against Chile, with Poland looking for a boost six days out from their Qatar kick-off.

The Eagles were a standout performer in qualification but after manager Paulo Sousa's shock departure in December, their Nations League campaign left lingering doubts.

Chile failed to qualify for the Qatar tournament and are winless in their last five matches, including a 2-2 draw with the World Cup hosts last time out.

However, the likes of Alexis Sanchez won't make it easy for Poland, and the game should give an indication of their form.

The final match for Robert Lewandowski and Poland will take place at the Poland Army Stadium in Warsaw, home of Legia Warsaw, with a 18:00 local kickoff. A reported defect in the roof structure led to a switch in venue from the national stadium which has a retractable roof.

Poland vs. Chile lineups

Through their Nations League campaign Poland transitioned from the back-four system used for World Cup qualification to a setup with three centre-backs.

Manager Czeslaw Michniewicz may decide to test Aston Villa's Matty Cash at right-wing-back against Chile, but he also has the option of experienced international Bartosz Bereszynski.

Michniewicz might start with his strongest XI but there will be plenty of changes throughout the match in this final World Cup warmup.

Poland (3-5-2): 1-Szczesny (GK) — 5-Benarek, 15-Glik, 3-Kiwior — 2-Cash, 13-Zurkowski, 10-Krychowiak, 20-Zielinski, 21-Zalewski — 16-Swiderski, 9-Lewandowski.

Chile manager Eduardo Berizzo replaced Martin Lasarte after the failed World Cup qualification campaign. Just like Michniewicz, he has been experimenting with back-five formations since.

Blackburn forward Ben Brereton Diaz has been withdrawn from the Chile squad for this month's friendlies, with the Championship side citing his packed domestic schedule. Meanwhile, Alexis Sanchez scored in his latest match for Marseille, and will be available to lead the line.

Chile (3-5-2): Bravo, 1 (GK) — 17-Medel, 15-Sierralta, 4-Suazo —   6-Pavez, 10-Nunez, 8-Vidal, 19-Valdes, 16-Mehssatou — 7-Sanchez, 10-Henriquez.

Poland vs. Chile odds, prediction

The oddsmakers are expecting a victory for the Qatar-bound side in Warsaw.

Chile have failed to score in five of their last six matches. On that kind of form, defeat for Poland would be a major blow ahead of the World Cup.

  • Pick: Poland victory
  • Prediction: Poland 2-0 Chile
