A range of familiar faces from across sport will return when TNT Sports replaces BT Sport in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

From UEFA Champions League winner Rio Ferdinand to two-weight boxing world champion Carl Frampton, a high-profile cast of stars will accompany the channel's presenters on a platform that will combine BT's content with Eurosport and discovery+ coverage.

TNT Sports holds the rights to the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League, as well as a limited number of Premier League matches and major events and competitions in boxing, UFC, WWE, MotoGP, cricket, rugby and beyond.

The Sporting News has the details for fans wondering how much the platform costs, as well as information on how to get the TNT Sports app and more.

TNT Sports app

Many BT Sport users are familiar with streaming BT's channels via a dedicated app. That app is being phased out and will end later in the 2023/24 football season, to be replaced by the discovery+ app on mobile, tablet and other connected devices.

BT says it is emailing customers who took out a BT Sport Monthly Pass before July 18 to notify them that they can activate discovery+.

TNT Sports Virgin Media

TNT Sports offers the same package through Virgin Media, although its Box Office channel is available as a red-button channel when events become available, rather than a numbered channel.

TNT Sports boxing pay-per-view events

Errol Spence Jr's hotly-anticipated fight with Terence Crawford on July 29 and heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk's defence against Daniel Dubois on August 26 are among the first pay-per-view boxing events on TNT Sports.

Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou's fight against Tyson Fury on October 28 will also be shown on the channel.

Customers can visit their provider's Box Office channel to book. Virgin Media viewers can use the on-demand or pay-per-view live events sections of their service, and EE, Three, Vodafone and O2 customers can add the payment to their mobile bill.

Champions League and Premier League TNT Sports presenters and pundits

TNT Sports will want to rival CBS's Champions League broadcast as the American network has been very popular over the past two seasons. The lineup of Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher provided many viral clips over the course of the European campaign.

Laura Woods will be hosting the coverage of the 2023/24 Champions League for TNT Sports, with Reshmin Chowdhury anchoring during the matches. Jules Breach will have a broader role as she will present Europa League matches, report on the Premier League and Champions League, and host a new Premier League show every Saturday.

Lynsey Hipgrave will continue with her role as host of Premier League coverage, which she started last season. The TNT commentary team will include Darren Fletcher, Adam Summerton, Lucy Ward and Ally McCoist.

TNT Sports will have a long list of football pundits. They have confirmed Rio Ferdinand, Peter Crouch, Joe Cole, Rachel Brown-Finnis, Owen Hargreaves, Steve McManaman, Joleon Lescott, Michael Owen, Paul Scholes and Robbie Savage.
