France national team head coach Didier Deschamps has looked to draw a line under the ongoing controversy surrounding Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe.
Deschamps and Mbappe spoke ahead of the former's decision to announce his squad for October's UEFA Nations League double header against Israel and Belgium.
The pair agreed Mbappe was best served remaining in Madrid to work on his fitness following a minor hamstring injury.
However, Mbappe starting Real Madrid's final game before the international break, and his appearance in a Swedish nightclub, has raised a few eyebrows in Paris and Madrid.
Real Madrid have stated the 25-year-old is working on a personalised training plan, after a disrupted preseason, and the Spanish giants do not expect a long-term absence.
Deschamps was asked about the situation once again, ahead of facing Belgium in Brussels, and the former midfielder played down an issue with his captain.
"I don't follow the news of players who are not here, Kylian is following a programme with Real Madrid, I don't know if he was away or not", he said.
"I have to manage those who are here, what I can say is that Kylian sent me a message before the Israel game.
"Like any footballer for his club, he follows a programme. If the players have days off, they have freedom to do what they want."
Real Madrid return to La Liga action on October 19, away at Celta Vigo, with Mbappe expected to start alongside the fit-again Vinicius Junior in Carlo Ancelotti's attack.
