Brighton were one of the surprise packages of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign, threatening a run for European qualification during the first half of the season and proceeding to secure their highest-ever finishing position of ninth.

Graham Potter's side were noted for their possession-based approach and finally managed to remedy some of the goalscoring problems that had kept them closer to the relegation zone than the top half of the table during the manager's first two seasons in charge.

In a division full of well-resourced clubs, Brighton punched well above their weight — but their progressive ethos means it would not be a huge surprise to see the Seagulls impress again in 2022/23.

Ahead of their sixth season in the Premier League, here's Brighton's full league schedule.

Brighton Premier League betting odds

Brighton have long aimed to establish themselves in the top 10 of the Premier League but their first priority, along with several of the division's less-wealthy clubs, is always to avoid any risk of a relegation battle.

The prospect of European football was treated irreverently by many Seagulls supporters, although Potter did guide former side Ostersunds to their first-ever European campaign on the continent. A top-half finish, as the odds suggest, would be another significant achievement for his current club.

Brighton best & worst Premier League finish

Although they had been in the top flight before, Brighton only joined the modern Premier League for the first time at the start of the 2017/18 season.

Before last season, they had never finished higher than 15th — and their 17th-placed position in 2018/19 spelled the end for former boss Chris Hughton after a narrow avoidance of the relegation zone.

Albion rarely looked in danger of being dragged into a relegation battle during 2021/22, beating the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United as they finished in the top half for the first time.
