Brazil vs. Peru lineups, expected starting 11, team news: Vinicius, Alisson still missing for World Cup qualifying push image

Still seemingly stuck in the mud, Brazil look to finish the October international window with a potentially vital three points as they host Peru in Brasilia on Tuesday.

The Selecao fell behind just two minutes in after conceding an early goal to an attacking-challenged Chile side on Thursday, but they were able to rescue three points with a come-from-behind win to bump them to fourth in the standings, helping revive their prospects after an embarrassing defeat to Paraguay in September.

Still, Brazil have been hit by a number of significant injuries, with both Alisson and Vinicius Jr. not with the team, meaning they must press on without a few of their key players.

Peru, meanwhile, are in dire straits of their own but lifted themselves off the bottom of the table with a confidence-boosting win over Uruguay last time out.

Brazil vs. Peru lineups, predicted starting 11, team news

There are a handful of notable absences for Brazil, one of which is goalkeeper Alisson, who was forced to withdraw due to an injury sustained just days before the international break. Also out is Real Madrid duo Eder Militao and Vinicius, part of multiple Blancos teammates to take the October window off after fitness scares. Juventus defender Bremer sustained a serious knee injury in the final club match before the international break and will miss significant time.

To make matters worse, Borussia Dortmund right-back Yan Couto, Flamengo striker Pedro, and Guilherme Arana of Atletico Mineiro are all unavailable. Gabriel Martinelli has a calf issue and is a doubt, while midfielder Lucas Paqueta is suspended for this game.

All this is piled on top of the continued absence of Neymar who remains sidelined with his ACL tear, although he is expected back on the pitch sometime in the next month.

Ignacio Jesus and Savinho were surprise starters against Chile, while the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Endrick began on the bench, so there's no telling who will earn Dorival Junior's confidence here.
