Arsenal vs PSV score, result, analysis as Gunners seal dominant 4-0 win on Champions League return image

Arsenal stormed to a superb 4-0 win on their Champions League return at home to Dutch side PSV.

Mikel Arteta's side rode a wave of positivity early on at the Emirates Stadium as Bukayo Saka slammed home the Gunners' first Champions League goal since 2017.

Saka turned provider to tee up Leandro Trossard shortly afterwards before Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus cannoned in a fantastic third before the break.

The momentum of the game dipped after the restart, Martin Odegaard eventually steering a fourth beyond PSV goalkeeper Walter Benitez as Arsenal returned to the big European stage in style.

Trossard shines on Martinelli audition

Despite Arteta's insistence on exalting the values of squad rotation all over the pitch the Spanish coach has his 'unmoveables' in certain areas.

If Gabriel Jesus can stay fit, he will be Arsenal's central line leader, with Saka assured of the right sided spot, as Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard battle on the opposite flank.

Martinelli's injury has opened doors for Trossard in recent days and he looks ready to make use of this window of opportunity.

A winner Everton last weekend was followed up by a fine goal and assist tonight and he is now certain to start against Tottenham and get his first taste of a North London derby.

Starboy Saka superb on Champions League bow

With so little Champions League experience in this Arsenal squad, there was a slight concern over their ability to immediately rise to the occasion, but Saka dismantled any chance of stage fright inside nine minutes.

Arsenal's Champions League exile has deprived one of the best young players in Europe of a chance to shine on the biggest stage and he grabbed this opportunity with trademark focus and class.

A poacher's finish to open the scoring brought him up to three for the season so far and the calmness of his assist for Trossard was equally impressive.
