Argentina and Chile have faced each other 90 times, with a more than favorable balance for the Albiceleste, who have 58 wins against La Roja's six wins, in addition to a total of 26 draws.

The last meeting between the two was on January 27, 2022, in the World Cup South American Qualifiers for World Cup 2022.

Argentina won 2-1 with goals from Angel Di Maria and Lautaro Martinez (Ben Brereton tied temporarily for La Roja) at the Municipal Stadium in Calama, Chile.

The Albiceleste have won 20, while there have been nine draws. Chile have never beaten Argentina over 90 minutes, although La Roja did win two finals, in 2015 and 2016, against Argentina on penalties.
