India have reached their fourth ODI World Cup final on Wednesday after they beat New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium.

The likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Mohammad Shami, were influential in the semifinal victory, however, former England captain, Nasser Hussain heaped praises on Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.

Batting first, India recorded a mammoth total on the board. Courtesy of centuries from Virat Kohli (117) and Shreyas Iyer (105), India posted 397 runs at the end of 50 overs.

Chasing the total, New Zealand gave a brave fight but fell short in the end. The Kiwis were bowled out for 327 thanks to Mohammad Shami's seven-wicket haul. Daryl Mitchell (134) and Kane Williamson (69) gave their all, but it wasn't meant to be.

What did Nasser Hussain say about Rohit Sharma?

Nasser Hussain was in awe of Rohit Sharma's leadership as India progressed to the World Cup final on Wednesday. Hussain called Sharma the 'hero of this side' and suggested that he has changed the culture of the Indian team.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Hussain said,

The headlines tomorrow will be about (Virat) Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Mohammad Shami. But the genuine hero of this Indian side, who has changed the culture of this Indian side is Rohit Sharma.

Hussain also revealed how Sharma told  Dinesh Karthik about the need to change after the semi-final defeat against England at the 2022 T20I World Cup.

India played fearless cricket in the knockouts as well, Rohit Sharma sent a clear message with the approach.
