The Punjab Kings will return to their home stadium in Mohali for the first time since May 2019 when they welcome the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday.
The franchise has been unable to play at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium for almost four years because of the Covid pandemic.
For new Kings coach Trevor Bayliss, the occasion will also be a reunion with a visiting side who won the IPL title under his leadership in 2012 and 2014.
Bayliss went on to win the 2019 Cricket World Cup in charge of England and coach IPL side Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2020 and 2021.
The Riders reached the IPL final in 2021 but finished seventh a year later and could be without captain Shreyas Iyer through injury as they look to improve their position this time around.
Here's how to watch the action live as Punjab Kings and KKR meet in their first games of the IPL 2023.

Punjab Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders team news
Punjab Kings newcomer Sam Curran is the most expensive player in IPL history, joining them in a $2.2 million deal (IND 18.5 crore).
Jonny Bairstow's recovery from a golf course injury, however, means he will miss the entire 2023 IPL. Uncapped Australian Matthew Short will come in for the England star.
