Mumbai Indians got back to winning ways as they faced Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The teams played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali on Thursday evening.
After a tough start to the campaign, both Mumbai and Punjab faced each other at Mohali. Even with Shikhar Dhawan and Johnny Bairstow out for the hosts, the visitors could only get through by a narrow margin of nine runs.

MI have climbed to the seventh position, with three wins in seven matches. Meanwhile, PBKS have slipped down to the ninth position, with two wins in seven.
For Punjab, once again, it was the lesser known players, who lit up Mohali against Mumbai Indians. Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh almost pulled off another blinder of a victory, but it wasn't meant to be.

Batting first, Mumbai Indians put up a massive total of 192 runs on the board. Suryakumar Yadav scored a 53-ball 78 to stand out for Mumbai Indians. Tilak Varma's 34 off 18 proved handy too.
In response, Punjab Kings fell short by the narrowest of margins - nine runs. The new recruits - Shashank Singh (41) and Ashutosh Sharma (68) - held their nerves, but could not see it through for their franchise.
