While New Zealand holds the record for the most semi-final appearances, the Black Caps have yet to lift the ODI World Cup trophy.

They went agonisingly close four years ago, before being beaten by hosts England in the most dramatic of circumstances in the final.

Now, as the 2023 ODI World Cup starts in India, they are looking to set the record straight.

Here's their schedule for the showpiece, which runs from October 5 to November 19.

They have reached the last two finals (2015 and 2019) and also exited in the semi-finals six times.

New Zealand Cricket World Cup 2023 predictions, odds and betting

With a good combination of players who have both experience and skill, New Zealand are one of the strongest teams in this year's ODI World Cup.

The Black Caps have a fiery bowling attack with the likes of Trent Boult and Tim Southee and batting superstars like Devon Conway and Tom Latham that makes for a well-balanced team.

However, the fitness of Kane Williamson, New Zealand’s top batsman and captain, remains uncertain. Williamson suffered a knee injury in April and has been rehabbing after surgery.

He is in the squad but his fitness will be monitored closely in case he suffers any recurrence during the tournament.
