What is the agenda of the meeting between BCCI and IPL owners?
According to Cricbuzz, the stakeholders are set to discuss the possibilities and ways to take the IPL forward. They are likely to discuss the rules of the upcoming 'Mega Auction' that is likely to be held later this year and the player retention limits rule.
The report further claims that a section of the team owners are in favour of increasing the slots of retained players at mega auction while others are against increasing the number. Certain owners reportedly have floated the idea of increasing the number of retained players to 8.
A final agenda could be the increment of the salary cap which increased to INR 100 crores during the IPL 2023 auction. Teams believe that with the increase in BCCI's central revenue pool, they are now capable of spending more money on players signing.
