The 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League is about to begin, as teams are in full preparation mode for the big event.
The defending champion Gujarat Titans will open the tournament against the Chennai Super Kings on March 31 in Ahmedabad.

Who has won the most IPL titles?
Since the beginning of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008, the Mumbai Indians have been victorious five times, leading the Chennai Super Kings (four) and Kolkata Knight Riders (two).
The Mumbai Indians dominated the 2010s, winning in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
Rohit Sharma captained the team to victory on all occasions, including being named Man-of-the-Match in 2015's summit clash.
The 2013 year was extra special for the Mumbai Indians, who achieved the double their first IPL trophy and the Champions League Twenty20.
Chennai Super Kings' four victories came in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021, led by MS Dhoni each time.
Whereas the other only multiple IPL trophy winners, Kolkata Knight Riders, saw success in 2012 and 2014, in between the Mumbai Indians' dominance.
Gautam Gambhir was the captain of both wins, defeating Chennai Super Kings and the Punjab Kings.
Australians have also led IPL teams to victory throughout the highly-anticipated and watched short form of cricket.
Spin-bowling legend Shane Warne was the first captain to ever win an IPL title, taking the Rajasthan Royals to the promised land in 2008.
Well-known Aussie wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist took the now-defunct Deccaan Chargers to victory the following year.
David Warner followed suit in 2016 as captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, claiming a win from the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
