The 16th edition of the Asia Cup will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka and has kicked off on August 30. 

Sri Lanka are the defending champions whereas, India are the most successful nation with seven titles to their name. 

Six teams will be participating in this edition of the marquee continental tournament.

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are clubbed in Group A, along with newly crowned ACC Men's Premier Cup champions Nepal.

Nepal qualified for the Asia Cup 2023 after beating UAE in the final of the 2023 ACC Men's Premier Cup. They topped Group A which consisted of teams like Oman, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Qatar and then defeated Kuwait in the semi-final before beating UAE in the final.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka are placed in Group B alongside Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

What is the format of the 2023 Asia Cup?

The six teams have been divided into two groups. Top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 4 stage. 

The top two teams from the last four will head to the final.
