Monaco, meanwhile, continued their strong form in Ligue 1 with a 3-0 win over Auxerre, keeping their unbeaten record intact in the league.

Dani Olmo picked up a hamstring injury against Girona and will be out until after the next international break. He joins the likes of Fermin Lopez, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araujo (who is also suspended) and Andreas Christensen on the sidelines.

With the lack of options in midfield, Pedri, Marc Casado, and Eric Garcia should start for Barcelona in the middle of the park against Monaco.
