An injury to Keith Thurman presented an opportunity to Sebastian Fundora. "The Towering Inferno" was supposed to fight for the WBC super welterweight title in Las Vegas but will now compete for the chance to win two belts. That is if he can get past WBO super welterweight champion Tim Tszyu on Amazon Prime PPV.

Son of former world champion Kostya Tszyu, Tim has managed to break out on his own. "The Soul Taker" has 17 wins via knockout, taking out former world champions Tony Harrison and Brian Mendoza in 2023. An interim champion, he earned a shot at the WBO title after Jermell Charlo was stripped of his status as undisputed super welterweight champion.
The 29-year-old Tszyu is ready to lead the next generation of boxers.
Fundora is a former interim WBC super welterweight champion. He lost the belt against Mendoza in April after getting dropped in the seventh. The 26-year-old is younger and much more active when compared to the 35-year-old Thurman. Boxing fans and legends who scoffed at Thurman getting an opportunity are intrigued by this matchup of young guns.

"He is facing a southpaw, he’s been training for an orthodox fighter in a Keith Thurman and now he has to switch his camp and looking for sparring partners that size [Fundora is almost 6ft 6in] is going to be very difficult for him," Timothy Bradley told Boxing Scene. "This is a bigger challenge, a bigger threat in my opinion, compared to Keith Thurman, who I thought was going in this fight… I didn’t have him winning this fight at all, I thought he was going to get stopped eventually by a body shot or something – being out of the ring for so long.”
