Teofimo Lopez looks to continue his momentum and run at super lightweight when he defends the WBO and Ring super 140-pound belts against Steve Claggett.

Lopez (20-1) is a former unified lightweight champion, dethroning Vasiliy Lomachenko in 2020. Losing the belts a year later against George Kambosos Jr., "The Takeover" moved divisions and has won four straight. He beat Josh Taylor for his last remaining belts at super lightweight. Lopez looks to go 2-0 to start 2024.

“This is like a Rocky Balboa story for Steve Claggett,” Lopez said about his opponent. “I'm very much looking forward to what kind of style I'm going to see. There were no other fighters who were interested in fighting me, and I felt like he would give not just me, but the fans as well, a great fight to watch.”

“I have worked my entire life for this opportunity and I intend to make the most of it. I am more motivated than ever before, and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got,” Claggett said.
