After ending 2023 on a high note, O'Shaquie Foster looks to keep his momentum going in 2024. The WBC super featherweight champion defends his belt against Abraham Nova at the Theater at Madison Square Garden on February 16. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will air on ESPN+ in the U.S.

Foster (21-2) turned pro in 2012 and is on an 11-fight win streak. "Ice Water" was considered a top contender after beating Jon Fernandez in 2018 and he lived up to the hype by handing Rey Vargas his first career defeat in February 2023 to win the WBC title.

The 30-year-old also won SN’s Fight of the Year thanks to his classic battle with Eduardo Hernandez, who he stopped in the 12th and final round last October.

Nova (23-1) turned pro in 2016. The 29-year-old lost to Robeisy Ramirez in June 2022 and has since won two in a row, beating Jonathan Romero in his last contest.

“To get a world championship fight is a dream come true,” Nova told Times Union. “It’s something not everyone can fight for and not everyone can get. I was able to stay patient, even during the setback loss, and come back and put myself in a position to fight for the world title.”
