A multi-generational clash takes over Phoenix, Arizona. Juan Francisco Estrada and Jesse Rodriguez face off for the former’s status of WBC and The Ring super flyweight champion.

The 33-year-old Estrada turned pro in 2008. "El Gallo" has won gold at light flyweight, flyweight, and super flyweight, beating rival Roman Gonzalez in 2022 for the WBC title. He has held The Ring belt since 2019. The “Chocolatito” trilogy two years ago was the last contest for “El Gallo,” on an eight-fight win streak.

Rodriguez is a two-division champion, holding WBC super flyweight gold in 2022 and the IBF and WBO flyweight belts in 2023. “Bam” took out Sunny Edwards in December to win the IBF belt, and the 24-year-old looks to win gold in a third division.

Speaking of Edwards, “Showtime” returns to action against Adrian Curiel. Like Edwards, Curiel is looking to get back on track after losing the IBF light flyweight title in a rematch against Sivenathi Nontshinga. That series is tied 1-1.

Also on the card, Yamileth Mercado defends the WBC super bantamweight title against Ramla Ali. Mercado has held super bantamweight gold since 2019. She is on a five-fight win streak. Ali is 1-1 in her last two fights, her previous contest being a decision win against Julissa Alejandra Guzman, who ended her unbeaten record in June 2023.
