Two hard-hitting showmen compete for flyweight supremacy on December 16. WBO champion Jesse Rodriguez and IBF champion Sunny Edwards compete in a unification fight in the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona. The fight airs on DAZN worldwide.
A 2015 English National Championships gold medalist, Edwards turned pro in 2016. The Brit has held flyweight gold since 2021 when he beat Moruti Mthalane for the IBF belt. He has defended the title four times, beating Andres Campos in June.
A silver medalist in the 2015 Junior World Championships, Rodriguez is ranked second in The Sporting News' 25 Under 25. "Bam" beat Carlos Cuadras in 2022 for super flyweight gold and immediately made an impact at flyweight by beating Cristian Hernandez in April for the WBO belt.
Edwards has called out "Bam" many times for a fight. Now that the fight is official, Rodriguez believes the time for talk is over.

"We’re two different people. He shows his confidence running his mouth, I show mine in the ring," Rodriguez said. "I never have my will broken. In my last fight, I broke my jaw and kept going for six rounds. That shows the confidence I have in myself. I know that anyone that I get in the ring with I am going to beat."
